“great value, great stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Have just returned from excellent 2 night stay at this hotel. From checking in (allowed us to do this early ) to checking out, the whole experience was excellent.
Rooms are a reasonable size, comfortable and immaculately clean. Bathroom had very basic amount of toiletries, but you could request anything you had forgotten if necessary.
Food at breakfast and Dinner was very good, and all staff without exception were attentive, cheerful and helpful. This was the same for all of the staff at the hotel,,and a credit to the manager.
Tube (Russel Square)about 200 yards away very easy, particularly to and from Kings Cross, but don't be tempted to use the stairs in the tube station unless ultra fit,,, we missed lift and climbed up the spiral staircase OMG thought I'd have stroke!! 175 stairs, nearly killed us.. and a number of others too....lifts only take seconds to come back, should have been more patient!!
This is an excellent good value hotel, which I would highly recommend and will definately return soon!!

Room Tip: I asked for a high quiet room, which was great.

“Week end break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Just spent two days at the Holiday Inn(Bloomsbury) which is within walking distance of Euston Station, Covent garden and Oxford Street
Although we had prebooked and had our room confirmed, we were told on arrival that the only rooms available were smoking rooms and executive rooms which were £35pp extra. We had previously requested a quiet room on a high floor, when I showed the desk clerk our written confirmation he was able to find us an executive room(at no extra cost) on the executive floor.
The room was spacious and very clean with an ironing board and iron, trouser press, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar and a safe(located at floor level).
We had an excellent three course meal in the restaurant on the first evening and the full English breakfast was plentiful with a wide range available.
The drinks in the bar were a bit pricey, even by London standards.
However, we had a good stay at the Holiday Inn and will probably go there again if the price is right although I do prefer hotels closer to the centre of London.

Room Tip: The executive floor is very quiet.

“Very nice hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This hotel was lovely and the staff were very firendly and helpful! Our room was very small but this was ok as we were only staying one night and didn't have much luggage, it might have been a bit cramped otherwise. The breakfast in the morning was really good also. The location is fantastic. I'd definately stay there again.

“Good job. Would stay here again.”

I stayed here recently with my daughter and was pretty pleased with the hotel generally. Pleasant and courteous staff. The location is fantastic, so close to Russell Square station, breakfast was great with a large selection of good quality food and the service staff were really good. The concierge was very helpful, making theatre recommendations and assisting with tickets and storing baggage for us was very convenient. I stayed in rooms of different price ranges, due to a problem I made with the booking. The first room, more expensive on the first floor, was really without fault. The second room on the third floor was a bit tired perhaps in the bathroom but it was perfectly fine. I would stay here again.

“A predictable hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

The hotel is an excellent location, within easy walking distance of Euston Station and very close to Russell Square tube station on the Piccadilly Line, from where you can very easily get to all the sites and attractions of London. Our "executive" room on the second floor was nice clean and comfortable with all the amenities that you would expect from a Holiday Inn. The breakfast without being exceptional provided all that you need (and more) to set you up for a busy day in the Capital.
You could pay considerably more for a hotel nearer to the centre of "town" but this location in Bloomsbury is very good at an affordable price. (Look out for two nights for the price of one offers).

Room Tip: If you book the hotel on a room only basis, but want breakfast during your stay, it is a lot cheaper...
