We booked this hotel as a base to see in the New Year. Upon arrival, we were greeted by lovely porter, but the receptionist left a whole lot to be desired, firstly she said we had paid for our 2 night stay in full, then she told us we needed to pay for the second night, this we expected as we had been unsure as to whether we would use the 2 nights, we were then informed that they would need to take a 50 deposit incase we used a 'mini bar', we thought this was fine and as this is standard practice in all London hotels, we were not at any point asked if we required breakfast or explained about the services they provide, check in times, room service, bar times, if we needed a wake up call etc. We were however told even though we arrived after 14-00 hours that we would need to wait for rooms, we then stated it was after this time and were told quite rudely that they had a lot of rooms to clean. When shown to our small but cleanish room by the porter who is a credit to the establishment, there was no tea making facilities or even the mini bar we had paid the deposit for. The next day we were asked to speak to reception to be told that the receptionist that was so rude had actually taken the deposit for the minibar and not reserved the payment as stated and they would need to refund us when we checked out. We didn't argue at this point as mistakes can be made, but this on top of our first experience was not pleasant. Upon checking out the manager needed to be called to authorise the refund of the 100 they had taken, not 50 as firstly stated for the non existant mini bar. Don't go, not worth the price and not worth the parking fee either. Manager is a rude as his receptionist with every excuse in the book, even invented a few of us own... like we don't tell guests everything about what we offer!!!!
