“Honest Review”

we were dreading going having read some of the negative reviews on this site. However on arrival found the staff very friendly and accommodating. we went to our room and I promptly inspected the bed. The Linen was clean and so were the rooms.you could make a list of minor petty faults like there was a gap under the door it needed a lick of paint and the rooms were quite small. For the price we paid we couldnt grumble at all.lets face it you only stay in your room to sleep and shower. It was a a base with a clean bathroom and a clean bed.Nice hot shower also. Breakfast was buffet style nothing fantastic but cereals toast fruit yoghurt rolls hot drinks fruit juice scrambled eggs tomatoes beans mushrooms and sausages as well as croissants cheese preserves, enough to fill up on till lunch. Value for money not a four or five star place.

“Better than expected.......”

Bit dubious after reading reviews, however, my view was we were only staying for 1 night for a theatre break. We arrived in London early and found the hotel. Reception welcoming and helpful. Asked if we could use the luggage room for our bags, the helpful receptionist checked our booking and said our room was available. We found the room went in and the room was not ready, the bed was unmade etc, I did think Uh -oh....... Went back to reception where they apologised and organised another room staright away. Room was as stated by other reviewers, small and compact but spotlessly clean & as you don't spend much time in your room anyway I don't see this as a problem. Location is fab. Breakfast was fine, had better but had a lot worse. Shower was a slight issue, I had a lovely shower, however my partner had no hot water, and limited water supply. Rang reception and they sent up a key for another room to enable him to shower, not ideal but the matter was dealt with quickly and efficently.
Summing up: Good hotel, clean, friendly, efficient and in a great location. Ideal for a sightseeing break and I wouldn't hesitate in staying again.

“rude, and poor value for money!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

when we arrived we waited 10 mins to speak to someone in reception to check in. The rooms are very small and the bathroom even smaller. The shower only worked when it wanted to. We had scaffolding outside our window so no outside light was coming in. I stayed here with my family. The breakfast was disgusting and only one member of staff available who was rude and not willing to help. No mugs or glasses to get a drink. Or forks. and beware of the lady cleaning the tables with the trolley. She's dangerous rude and face like a bulldog chewing a wasp. lifts were very small and dangerous. Door were hanging on one hinge in corridor. Hotel was full of foreigners who were rude! Never again!! Don't let this hotel spoil London because outside of the hotel was amazing!

“ok hotel”

13 of us stayed here on a hen weekend, all our rooms were clean and tidy, which after reading some reviews on here i was suprised at, staff were friendly, and the young man on reception was very helpful,
there are some good places to eat just around the corner and the pub at the end of the road is good for a visit,

Room Tip: we were in the basement but with 13 of us on a hen weekend was probably the best place we stayed in...

“Staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel as a birthday treat while taking in a west end show. The hotel itself was fine. It was clean, convenient location for travel and the room was comfortable and had all that was required for our one night stay. The only downside was during breakfast, the staff member who was maintaining the food service area was rude, unhelpful and unapproachable. This upset me as it was my birthday and her negative attitude spoilt the start to my day. Apart from this individual the staff on reception and cleaners were all pleasant enough.

Room Tip: The back of the building was quiet as this was not on the road.
