The rooms are small but cozy. The staff are friendly. The room was very clean. The staff made arrangements for us to participate in a bus tour to Windsor Castle, Bath and StoneHenge. We had a great day seeing the sites. We bought passes to go on the big bus tour just around the corner and had a great time getting on and off the bus to see the London Bridge, the Eye, Harrods, the Tower of London and Buckingham palace to name a few. We were able to buy our tickets to most attractions from the hotel or the big bus so that we were able to avoid the long ticket lines. I really liked this hotel. It was warm, inviting and the staff always had great info to share. The wifi was good and there is even a small pub on the main floor. Paddington station is just down the block. Its a great location. Hyde Park was a few blocks away and there are great resturants close to this location. We stayed from December 28 2011 - January 2 2012. Its with in walking distance of the Hard Rock Cafe. Breakfast was good. The breakfast area was clean and the food was fresh. The coffee was strong and there is an expanded menu should one want to have a more substantial breakfast other that the free continental that comes with the room price.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room facing the front of the hotel. One could hear the busses as they drove by on Sus...

“Very expensive, smallest room ever!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Guess the price and size of the room are normal for London. This has been the most expensive BW I have bin. Being a good BW customer I got an upgrade for my room. This "upgrade" was a room of about 4 square meters. It was smaller than my bathroom at home. Makes me wonder what size the "regular" room would have been. There was coffee & tee available in the room, nice touch. Unfortunately the single pane glass lets all the noise from the street into the room. I slept maybe 2 hours on and off.

The staff was very courteous and there where actually 4 of them behind the very short counter.

The room was clean, the TV one of those that takes about 2 minutes to change channels.

I picked this BW because it was close to where I needed to go. This would be the only reason to stay here again.

“Awful, old, musty, crappy hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This was a terrible hotel. Like something from a bad dream. Our room downstairs from the lobby, down a steep narrow walkway, OUTSIDE across an uncovered atrium and then into the room.

The room itself smelt and was musty, dusty and nasty. The bathroom was 100% impossible to fit two people in. I would say about 3ft by 4ft. Insane.

See from pictures the mould in the bathroom and rat traps in the wardroom and behind the night stand.

We had no choice to stay here due to it being a family trip arranged by other people, but please, do yourself a favour and AVOID THIS HOTEL!

Room Tip: Find one in another hotel...

“Convenient affordable hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

This hotel is very nice. My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night for a concert in Hyde park. We were early on arrival and the lovely front of house staff allowed us to store our bags safely. They also gave us directions to the local amenities so we could get some lunch.

On our return, the room was not ready at the specified check in time and we were asked to wait in a very nice lounge. We were offered complimentary tea and coffee while we waited 45 minutes for roo, which was very nice and clean.

I was disappointed that we had to pay for wifi. Also we could here other people in their rooms flushing toilets and the fire doors, which slammed all night. I'm sure this could be easily fixed by installing slow closing door hinges/springs.

We did not have breakfast as it seemed a little steep at £13.95 - English breakfast and £7 - continental.

I would recommened this hotel for a quick stop as it is clean and the staff are friendly, however it is a little too expensive for a basic hotel, £149 for one night.

“Small hotel, small rooms but good price for London.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011 via mobile

For a central London hotel so close to a tube stop it is great location. Expensive but by London standards, good value. Stayed in a single room for 4 nights on business. Room was very small and basic. Window wouldn't close properly and was single pane glass, so in December let in a bad draught, and also very load. Bed was quite hard so didn't get much sleep! Staff were nice, and room was clean.
