“Excellent hotel and staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I was so glad that I stayed at this Marriott. It is located in the in the really ritzy Grosvenor Square and is in walking distance of many great restaurants, pubs, and amazing shopping.

The service overall of the hotel is top notch and I couldn't ask for anything better honestly. It is a pricy stay for the normal budget traveler, but I feel it is a great value for London knowing how expensive London can be. The hotel is very upscale, but not so upscale that one feels out of place or uncomfortable. The concierge and the front desk staff are very helpful and down to earth.

I love how the hotel is central to everything, yet it was not noisy at all anywhere in the hotel or even in the rooms. I loved the room I was in, it had a great view of Grosvenor Square and felt very private. The rooms are a little on the small size, but bigger than most in London. I LOVED that the rooms had speakers in the bathroom so you can listen to TV or the radio while showering or in the bathroom.

The bar is a fun bar and has a very laid back atmosphere. It is a must to grab a drink or two before you head to dinner or out on the town. I would say that this hotel is a great hotel for the solo traveler or one who was on business. Worth the extra money by far!

Room Tip: Get a room over looking Grosvenor Square and on one of the higher floors.

“World class stay at a world class hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stayed at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London UK for seven days at the end of January 2012. My wife was on a business trip for 5 days followed by two days of non business, I was on holiday for the 7 days. We have traveled a lot in the past couple years both inside and outside the United States and this stay at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London was by far the most enjoyable stress free stays we have ever had at any hotel of any class both inside and outside the United States. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting London either on business or vacation. The reason why the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London is a world class hotel and should be the bench mark any like hotels in the world is due to the hotel staff and the management from the top down and bottom up. The employees and management made our stay. Other hotels promise the same thing but there are always surprises. The room was clean and safe, hotel amenities were provided as promised at cost stated and many were free, The positive employee interactions I believe were due to good sound management principles and policies in place and were being practiced. As guests we felt throughout our stay that the employees truly enjoyed their servicing us as an welcomed hotel guest and management provided more than just a better bottom line for Marriott.

The hotel located real close to Hyde Park, American Embassy, great shopping, and many restaurants including all the great sights of London. We made reservations on line and then emailed the hotel’s customer relations people for upgrade room information and early check-in options in addition to high floor room location away from the elevators and extra pillows. We were offered an upgraded room for 50 GBPs extra that included access to the Executive Lounge that included breakfast. Executive Lounge access was a plus. It opened at 6:30 and stayed open until late. Breakfast in the morning was limited but good except for the scramble eggs. They need some work. Throughout the day, sandwiches, cookies, water, sodas, beer/wine and snacks were provided during the day and evening. The Business Lounge was well equipped and everything worked. There was not charge for access and usage of equipment and printers. The fitness center was small but was well equipped for basic workout. There were free weights and enough aerobic machines for no waiting that allowed me to keep up with my basic fitness program. The upgraded room was large, clean quite and well maintained. The TV had more and English/American programming than all other hotels I have stay in Europe and included ESPN.

When we arrived at the hotel around 10 AM on a Sunday morning after an overnight flight from Washington DC the front desk staff made me feel very welcome. We were informed that our room was ready and we could check-in immediately. I was very impressed with the hotel’s staff politeness, efficient and professional manner they conducted themselves. Everyone at the arrival worked together from the door men, front desk staff to the bag handlers to get us on my way to our room only in a few minutes after my arrival. The bags were at my door just as we arrive at my room. The room was warm and roomy. The porters were very friendly and helpful explaining the heat/ac controls, TV controls, showing us the locations of the tea/coffee maker, safe, lighting and how to work the mini bar. We were given a room on a high floor, extra pillows away from the elevator.

After a quick nap we went downstairs to find a place ask about a place to eat and find a Catholic Church for Sunday mass. The concierge was great. He told us where the closest church was within walking distance and a place for a late lunch.

Check-out was just as smooth as check-in. We had a mini bar charge on our bill that was a mistake and they removed the charge without a hassle. The bill was explained and the charges were converted to USDs. We made arrangements through the concierge for a transfer to the airport. It was a snowing cold morning we departed and the driver was on time. We made it to Heathrow in plenty of time and safe for only 70GBP. Good service from the hotel.

The week stay at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London, UK hotel was very delightful. Everything worked as advertised. There were no surprises and everything the hotel promised they delivered including the welcoming gift and bottle of wine. We would recommend anyone wanting to stay at world class hotel in London within an acceptable price range stay at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London.

Hopefully your stay will be as delightful as our stay.

Room Tip: Upgrade room to get access to the Executive Lounge. Worth the money

“Fine hotel, incredible rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Stayed at the Marriott Grosvenor Square for the first time in November 2011. Although it has the bustle and feel of a business hotel it's very appealing. The hotel has a history of being one of the first Marriots outside the US. It's sort of an icon. Our room was incredible - It had it's own outdoor decked terrace with faux fireplace, couch, table and chairs. Perfect for outdoor dining, assuming the weather cooperates.

The room had another faux fireplace with a "fire" done with clever lights. A flosted glass panel seperated the bathroom from the main room. The panel slid back so you could watch TV while in the rub. The tub was a short sitting tub, something as an American I haven't seen before. The bathroom had a large glass walled shower room.

Very comfortable!

They have a large Concierge Lounge, access to it is one of the best benefits of being a gold or higher Marriott Rewards mrember.

Room Tip: Hopefully you are a Marriott Rewards status person and they give you an upgrade. We had one of the...

“Wonderful staff and a great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Just spent three days at the Marriott London Grosvenor Square hotel and it was wonderful! The room was neat, staff very attentive and internet service was stable and fast. Easy walk to multiple Underground stations and centrally located just off the shopping district of Oxford street. Great pub immediately next door for that last pint of the night! I will make this a regular stop when I'm in London.

“£220 night for room only - no recession here”

So no recession at this hotel. I stayed here for 3 nights and with room service and breakfast was nearly a grand! I was with work not that this makes it any better but was amazed at how busy it was. Room service was good ( handmade burger is worth a shot but chips are extra)

Room is ok, larger than average for London. Wifi is £15 /day but if you ask they have a special on at the moment with one hour free per day.

Room Tip: Kick start your health kick as lifts are painfully slow.......stairs are better
