“small rooms, good value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Small but clean rooms and not expensive hotel and really good value for money.
It is situated in a quite good location – Big Ben and Westminster Abbey nerby, few minutes to walk. We stayed in winter time, but walking was not bothering.
Street passing through the hotel may look busy with traffic, but was not disturbing while sleeping.
Room was really small, sink design was nice, but it is not convenient :) 2 different taps...
I liked small table with kettle – for making tea and coffe.
Breakfast was poor actually and it costs additional 5 pounds if you need traditional Emglish breakfast.

“Very Good for the price.”

To start of with, when you rate a room or a hotel or a Villa or a Mansion 1st see what it is rated example 1 star? 2,3,4,5, or what ever , Then see how it was booked ,,was it on last minute basis ?? or you had the chance to choose.
I had the chance to choose i looked for a 3 star hotel in London i looked for a good location near an important sub, rail, bus station (Victoria station ) i looked for a good price and I chose Huttons .I read a couple of views and true i was a bit scared of what i was going to find but i made the choice and said to my family ..we will have to see for ourselves.
We got there at 6.00pm Receptionist was very helpful told us what ever we needed to know even gave us a map ,gave us our key card and went up to our room the room number was 405. We went in the room and we looked to see what we have and what we don't we are a family of 4 . we had a double bed and 2 singles 2 side tables a clothes hanging space and an ensuite ,a small shelve for tea and coffee.apart from a window that at night we could see the London eye.Now some important notes
Was the room small ? YES but good enough
Was the ensuite Small?? Yes but again good enough
Was the room a bit noisy ? maybe lift noise or people corridor traffic???Well yes but what do expect from a London 3 star Hotel ?? all that is all normal in a London Hotel .if you dont want that you should book a room in the country side.
it was very good for the price paid and it was clean ,cleaned everyday , tea and coffee updated every day, towels changed everyday, beds updated everyday
room was updated every day. Breakfast area clean , true we had toast butter cheese jam coffee, tea cereal as much as we wanted but dear lord what do people except a 4 coarse meal??? if you wanted extra's like bacon sausages or what ever there was a small charge no big deal at all.Apart from that they had 3 double toasters everything in order and the staff was excellent very helpful and tables cleaned at once. The Hotel is just a 10minute walk from Victoria station and Victoria station has the lot ,Transit to Gatwick airport ,trains to main cities in Europe, trains to English stations, Underground, and Bus stations, taxis you name it. If you are a true traveler you can walk to marble arch in 50 minutes or to Buckingham Palace in 35 .Also the hotel has another underground nearby only 10 minutes walk again ,its Pimlico station .The hotel has a near bus stop also.
Well i think that's enough to guide you,. All i can say is i have stayed in many London hotels and beleive me , i have slept in more expensive rooms than this and was very disappointed,
This London hotel was value for money ,I would go again and again as i said before i stayed in 405 i used the breakfast area and the reception and in my opinion it was very very satisfactory

“Nice staff, but the room was horrible.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

I have stayed for 3 nights, the location was perfect for my needs with 10 minutes walk from Victoria Station. The reception Staff were really helpful and nice. However i was given a first floor room. The rooms are like a prison cell. There are too much noises from other rooms and doors... People pass in-front of your room you can even hear their breath. The corridors are just a meter wide. You can hear the lift going up and down every minute even during the night and it sounds like an old tractor. The toilet cubical is too small which includes a shower too. Its like a telephone boot. The Linen was clean and changed every morning ..... This cost me 160 for three nights which included breakfast. However the breakfast only consist of a toast with jam or with cheese (only) and butter, plus Tea or Coffe. They say that you will also have a telephone in the room however No rooms have telephone. The TV set is on analogue system and its very old. You will have only 5 channels.

So if you happen to book this hotel, make sure you insert earmuffs if you wish to try to sleep.

Not value for money i am afraid.

“Lovely reception, helpful stafff, disappointing room!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

The rooms were small and cramped and looked like you had travelled back to the 80's, the bathrooms reminded me of an aeroplane toilet, unfriendly!

The bathroom door didn't shut nor lock and i didn't enjoy seeing the dirty laundry chucked on the floor while coming out of the lift back to the hotel room.

However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They sorted out our complaints straight away!

I probably would not stay here again on a leisure trip and pay a little bit extra for a lot more! Maybe if i was backpacking and short for cash, then i would stay here again.

“Not for claustrophobics”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

I chose the hotel because of location - close to Victoria station and to the Embankment - and price: £60 for a single room for the night. I just wanted a bed for the night in the right place.

The single room assigned was the smallest I've ever stayed in: it felt like a converted linen cupboard, on the stairs between floors, with _just_ enough room for a small single bed and a bathroom 'pod'. Lost a point because there were no towels in the room on arrival, but swiftly and politely dealt with by reception staff. Lost another point because of missing TV remote and poor sound insulation - returning guests woke me up.

But cheap, honest and clean. I felt I got what I paid for, and would stay again in similar circumstances.
