“Excellent location, great staff and overall great hotel!”

Stayed in the Hotel around the end of January 2012 for 4 nights and was very happy with my stay at this property.

Location: The Hotel is very easy to get too especially being surrounded by 3 main tube lines + 1 over rail service as well as having various bus stations around the Hotel. It is very easy to get into the centre of London as it takes around 15 minutes and the closest tube station is only a 15 minute walk up the high street along with 2-3 bus stations outside the Hotel which will also take you to where you want to go. When I read other peoples reviews about location and saying "its a poor location, the tube is up the other end of the street" I wonder if they stayed in the same Hotel as me? There are also a lot of shops up the high street and Westfield shopping centre is around a 15 minute walk with 265 stores to shop from.

Hotel: The room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable and little to no noise so I slept really well. The Hotel itself, last time I visited was going under a refurbishment in the bar, restaurant and reception. The finished product now is 5*, you could sit in the "Society Bar" all night and drink it is that comfortable and with a widescreen TV showing sport, its ideal. There is also a Costa coffee shop in the Hotel which is ideal in the morning!

Service: Check in was easy and no problem. I had great service in the Bar from I think his name was "Rennuard" when he let me and a friend eat from the room service menu in the bar and during the 4 nights we stayed really looked after us, I never needed to leave my chair once. Also "Elle" at reception, I had a query about my bill which I left with her, she sorted it out in no time and left me a note in my room letting me know it was sorted. Concierge were very helpful as well.

Overall: Had a great stay, nice area and staff were very friendly and helpful!

“Very disappointing”

I paid $200AUD a night for this hotel (only for two nights either side of a tour) and I felt I was ripped off. The room the first night was very small with a single bed that was as hard as a rock. The only thing that was a positive about this hotel is that the room was clean. The room I had the second night was much better however still not worth the money I paid. The location was terrible. It was dreadfully noisy the first night which wasn't helpful as I had to be up at 4am the next morning! I thought the windows were completely open but they were shut. The tube station was miles away from the hotel and was at the bad end of high street, a million miles away from the closest shops.

“Well located, nice area and overall nice hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012 via mobile

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from High Street Kensington Tube station. For our stay this was the perfect location but if you want to be a bit more central then expect to have to change tubes. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We did not have breakfast as we felt it was a bit pricey so opted to use the Costa coffee which is attached to the hotel. The staff were fine. The hotel restaurant served up a delicious evening meal but it's not cheap, especially if you have wine. Worth trying but also worth visiting some of the nice neighbourhood restaurants too. Only real niggle was the old text book attempt to add to our bill by "accidentally" charging a mini bar item which we did not have to our final bill.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for taking the time to post your review on Tripadvisor.com following your earlier stay with us.
I was delighted to learn that you found our unrivalled location an ideal base for your trip, and agree that we are perfectly located for a West London destination.
I was so glad to read that you had on the whole a positive and enjoyable stay at our hotel. Our paramount aim is 100% guest satisfaction and it is always so rewarding when this is achieved.
I did want to however reply to your comment in regard to the minibar charge, which I dispute in being a trick. The tray on the top of the credenza in the bedroom which contains the snack items does charge to your room account if any item is picked-up, as stated on the warning labels, which may have been where this charge came from.
I very much look forward to welcoming you back with us soon.
Happy travelling! The Hilton London Olympia team.

“Noisy!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed at the Hilton for 2 nights.
First of all its a good 15 minute walk from Kensington High Street tube station, so its not as centrally located as it claims.
The room itself was nice, nicely decorated / furnished.
First problem was at 0530 in the morning, our mini bar started to make a really loud banging noise - i thought it was someone knocking on the window it was that loud! This continued to do this every 15 minutes for the next hour - so we had to move the desk & turn it off at the plug.
Then at 0830 there was a really loud noise just above of drilling - and i mean loud! After putting up with this for an hour I called reception who to be fair sent someone up there & stopped it - it was contractors doing work on the building. The Manager apologised & promised they wouldn't start until 10am tomorrow - she also offered us free breakfast for both mornings - so that was good. Until the next morning when at 0830 it happened again!
Also the traffic noise is really loud - sirens & beeping all of the time.
So, if you're a light sleeper - don't stay here!

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for your detailed review following your recent stay with us. All comments about our hotel, good & not so good are invaluable to us. Without feedback we are weaker in our quest to provide consistent excellent hospitality, care & service.
I am sorry you felt your experience was not as good as you hoped. My team here are aware of your comments and will do our best in beating your expectations in the future. I hope we have that pleasure.
We are investigating the issue that occurred with the minibar as overnight the minibar shuts down and is programmed to come back on at 9am, which was obviously not the case in this instance. Thank you for bringing this is our attention. We also received your comment card here in the hotel which had the same comments on.
Once again, thank you for your input and happy travelling.
The Hilton London Olympia team.

“Nice Hotel but Isolated Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

The overall property was very nice with reasonably sized rooms and a nice executive lounge. It is a pretty good distance from any sites or parts of town that would interest someone. The Tube stop closest to the property has very limited service so don't be fooled by the proximity when you see it on a map.

Dear Reviewer,
Thank you for taking the time to write your review of the Hilton London Olympia. I was delighted to hear you enjoyed a comfortable stay, enjoyed the newly opened Executive Lounge and the size of your room.
In regard to your comment about our location, we try to always state that the nearest London Underground stop is High Street Kensington on the circle and district lines, purely because the Kensington Olympia spur line does run very infrequently.
I hope that we may get the opportunity to be of service again on a future visit to West London.
Happy travelling! Richard, Director of Operations.
