“Too old school...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

The Landmark used to be a wonderful and chic hotel about 10 years ago. Sadly, today they have a lot to catch up with. The room decor is very old fashioned and even the layout of the rooms is uncomfortable and silly at times. The service is not bad, but nothing to write home about. Same goes for the the afternoon tea/brunch area.

The twotwentytwo restaurant in the basement should be somewhat less relaxed about who they let in. Not to discriminate but letting in non hotel guests dressed in tracksuits and hoodies does not convey an image of a 5 star hotel.

Overall, the hotel is ok at best. A refurbishment would put it back in the race with the other, newer hotels of London

Many thanks for sharing your feedback. We have recently refurbished all our suites in the hotel and together with our bedrooms where we have added new furniture , televisions and iphone docking stations, we have a continued programme of investment. We are very forunate that this investment continues within other areas of the hotel and I do hope that when you return you will be able to appreciate the improvements that have been made.

“Excellent Hotel, Great Staff....shame about the breakfast!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We have been guests at the Landmark before and loved it then, so decided to go back . The staff were as usual fantastic, the room above excellence and when you stay there, you feel so special and well looked after.

However, it was at breakfast that we felt really let down, we are not particulary awkward people and asked for low fat margarine instead of butter, low fat yoghurt and multigrain toast.

We have stayed at lots of other hotels many rated with lower stars than this and they have always had great dietary options, however you would have thought that we had asked for something highly exotic when we asked fror these items.

They spent 10 minutes on the hunt for margarine, and on the two days that we were there, could not provide low fat yoghurt or multigrain toast.

In addition there was not a vegetarian cooked breakfast on offer.

I would suggest that if you are happy with a standard breakfast without any other requirements then you will be fine.

If not book room only and eat elsewhere that can deal with your requests.

“The only Landmark in the area!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed in a studio suite on 2nd floor. View of the office block opposite is pretty awful, but the room has plenty of room - almost too much really as it felt a bit empty! And too much bare wall space for my liking. However everything else is great - 2 big TV's, desk, huge and comfy bed, tiny safe, drinks fridge - bring your own, Coke is a daft £3.50. Hanging wardrobe is ok for a few nights but not big enough for longer stays. Bathroom is excellent with twin basins, tub, good sized separate shower and a loo off the bathroom. Nice smellies. Room service has a very extensive menu at an ok price. A/C worked well. The main lobby is a masterpiece of architecture - it is worth staying here for this alone. I wish they'd replace the plastic palm trees though - they look slightly daft. The spa is super - a had a relaxing swim after using the gym which has a good number of machines with individual tv's - and really excellent staff. The adjoining Marylebone station is a lovely station and also has a tube station (Bakerloo line, so handy for Oxford St, Piccadilly). However the surrounding area is a bit rubbishy with the dreadful tourist area of Baker Street (Sherlock Holmes house, Madame Tussauds) just a few minutes walk away. The hotel has a small car park but this was full so we used the NCP 2 minutes walk down the road. It was an astonishing £48 for the night and we realised too late that on street weekend parking in this area is free.... Overall a very good hotel although not in a prime spot, but with prime London areas very close at hand. Would use again.

We were very happy to read you enjoyed the large space of our studio suites , together with the facilities provided. The central atrium where our Winter Garden is situated is certainly a very striking feature and we we were very pleased you enjoyed the architecture and surroundings. Thank very much for your kind comments regarding our Spa team and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Thank you also very much for taking the time and trouble to write to us

“"Amazing Sunday Brunch"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

An annual visit was taken last Sunday. The whole experience was exceptional. The service by nearly all foreign staff WAS amazing. So professional and caring, putting our lazy brits to shame!! The variety on the buffet was exceptional as the ever flowing champagne. Can't wait to go back. Great Management. x

“Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Stayed at the beautiful Landmark Hotel for a night last week, Heaven is the only proper way to describe it, the place even smells amazing. The staff were so wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, a smile and a greeting from every single person we encountered. The location was perfect, Oxford Street is perfectly walk-able, Baker Street tube just a couple of blocks away. Ate at a wonderful little Thai restaurant (Two point) just a few minutes walk away. Looking forward to our next stay.
