“Good location, high price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Staying there for only one night I would like to summarize just some feelings with this hotel.
The rooms seemed to be a bit oldish, and also the layout of the hotel is pretty strange. However the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
I have to highlight the breakfast which for me was enough and delicious, above the general level of the hotel.
Summarizingly the hotel seemed to expensive to its quality, but considering its location was acceptable.

“Perfectly Reasonable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We booked relatively last minute (a week or so before) and our four night stay included New Year's Eve so we were thrilled to find Club Quarters as somewhere so reasonably priced (we paid around 99 pounds a night, including New Year's Eve) and were pleasantly surprised with the facilities. We weren't travelling for business but still found it had perfectly respectable facilties and a good size room.
- Reasonable quality toiletries all provided.
- Decent cupboard space, big tv, decent lighting, alarm clocks, etc.
- Free wi-fi, reasonable speed (the no fuss kind)
- Bottles and chilled water dispensers available near the lifts on each floor (even better than bottled water because you can use as many or few bottles as you want depending on your convenience/environmental conscience)
- There aren't really 24 hour room service facilities (there are external delivery options but there are gaps) but there is a Gaucho's restaurant onsite (closes at 10pm though).
I can't think of anything you'd expect to find in a place like but didn't.

We had no dramas with the service at all, there were always staff around to help. We were even offered an umbrella each when it was raining one day. When we turned up super early (before 8am) they stored our luggage while we went for breakfast and checked us in at 10am.

The location is great - easy walking distance to London and Tower Bridges, Tower of London, St Paul's, Borough Market, Tate Modern. Well located for Bank/Monument tube stations, which cover most lines. Yes, the area does shut down a lot on weekends/public holidays (even M & S and Boots close!) but it's so close to places that don't close, it didn't bother us at all. I would say wear well-soled shoes though, as the whole area has cobblestone streets and the area is designed for walking!

“Better than Expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit worried about staying at this hotel. I need not have been as the hotel is really good and the staff really pleasant When we arrived at 1030am we were given our rooms at no extra charge. The rooms are small but very well equipped with tea , coffee and water free of charge.

One point is that at weekends everything in the immediate area is closed including most pubs which if open close either at 5pm or 8pm

Tube is nearby so no real problem

I will stay here again

Room Tip: Rooms to the back have no noise

“Good Value, Great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The club quarters offers good value rooms right in the heart of the city. They are on the small side, and the hotel doesn't offer all of the "extras" but if your after a clean hotel, with comfortable beds, and friendly helpful staff look no further.

“More like a 3 star but with some nice perks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed here for a weekend break. Noisy roadworks outside front of hotel but we were given a room at the back of the hotel away from the roadworks without having to ask. Large rooms but a little dated with need of a lick of paint. Unfortunately room only had a shower which is quite unusual for London and duvet was very uncomfortable. They have free tea and coffee and fruit juices in the reception area and bottles of water on the landing. i would recommend this as a business hotel being in a good location in the city but at weekends the surrounding area was dead and shops were shut up!
