“Short stay but would return”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Stayed here for one night in February 2012. First impressions of the hotel were good; well located (5 min walk to Regent's Park, the Royal College of Physicians and Oxford Street) and the hotel reception was modern and clean. We were on the third floor at the rear of the building and our room was slightly dated in style, but large; had a bedroom alcove, separate living 'area' with dresser and wardrobe and a bathroom (with toilet present in the same room!). The room was clean (though if you're a perfectionist there was a little mould in the bath-shower but it was otherwise fine).

Had a good night's sleep - the hotel was quiet as it's on a small side street off New Cavendish Road. Breakfast was continental in style with coffee, fruit juices, croissants, cereals and breads, and was in plentiful supply.

We only stayed one night, but we couldn't complain for the price we paid and the location was brilliant. We're hoping to return again in the summer.

“Brief stay - good all-round”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Stayed at the Astor Court for one night only, Was allocated a large room (suite actually, with two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet). Facilities were clean, well decorated, comfortable and service was fine at reception. Breakfast was ample and breakfast waitress pleasant and friendly. Good quiet location in W1.

“Only the location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Very poor breakfast, no facilities (WIFI paid even in Lobby, Luggage room is not locked, no restaurant in the hotel). Rooms were adequately spacious though however I don't know why the Tub and the Toilet were in different bathrooms!!!

“Four stars for a 3 star hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This hotel does not pretend to be anything more than a 3 star. 5 stars for its location. A short stroll to Oxford St and the tube station. Hotel is ideal if you manage to get a cheap rate. Yes, it is not modern in any way. Old decor, creaky lift, our room spacious enough and far better than the standard box layout of a 'modern' hotel. Best feature of the room - a quaint separate toilet from the bathrom. Essential to avoid embarrassment with partner or family over undesired aroma! Small TV with only 4 channels. Are you really visiting London to need TV? Breakfast ok. Watery fruit juice, plastic cheese, nice fresh croissants and bread rolls. Again, if you get a good price rate then breakfast enough to fill you for the morning. We had very friendly service from the Reception. If you want central London and a hotel just as base for sleep and a basic breakfast then there is nothing wrong with this hotel.

“Ideal for one or two nights in central London. A clean hotel at a very reasonable price!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

A clean hotel at a very reasonable price. The lady at recption was very helpful, polite and friendly. For one or two nights in London at a reasonable price, this hotel is ideal. No 'bells and whistles', but you haven't had pay for them!!!
