“Disappointed because I was moved”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

I arrived at the hotel around 8 p.m., but found that they had moved me down the street to the Millenium Gloucester Road Hotel. Even though the distance was short, I was tired of hauling my luggage around and really just wanted to settle in for the night. The Gloucester Road room was fine, but unremarkable. The one good thing about both of these hotels, however, is the location -- easy access to the Tube and lots of restaurants and shops close by.

“Old class, but fading”

We spent two nights at Bailey's Hotel in November. We choose the hotel for its location near the event we were attending. The hotel staircase looks very impressive, but the rooms have had better times. It gives a taste of a past, maybe too much of a past. One thing that was very strange was a morning wake up knock at the door -- about 8:30 one of the hotel staff came to ask if we used anything from the minibar. And this repeated on the next morning as well. Very unusual.

“Don't Expect Much for this Price!”

We stayed in this hotel for the first night of our london stay and we had to change our hotel the next day.
The main problem is related with the room. We stayed in a club room which was most of the time cold. Given the february weather with snow, it was really a challenge to sleep at nigh in the really cold room. The windows were letting the outside cold in, the AC in the room was blowing out cool air from time to time. The bathroom was also very cold.
The room was old and not taken good care of. There were stains in the carpet, the pillows were very thing and uncomfortable and the bed had wheels so with one movement you could move the bed easily.
So feeling very unhappy about our room we decided to change hotels.
On the positive side, the hotel is very conveniently located across the tube station. The breakfast was also included in our room rate and it was good with a lot of variety.
The room rate is quite reasonable for London, so the hotel can be good value for money in a better
weather.

“Would stay again... BUT !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Would stay again.
Easy access to EVERYTHING.. Museums, shopping, tube (just across the street), shops.
Loved the cat in the lobby, very sleeping.
Friendly staff.
BUT : Very expensive internet... But there's a "Pret" across the street, with free Wifi...
Water-pressure... This was kind of special - we were on the 5th floor, and the water pressure was a bit "on/off". When we turned the faucet, it "bloops/belches" a couple of times, and when the HOT water starts... We got used to it - but ....
-------------------
Don't believe everything you hear/read...
If you're a smoker (as we are), do not believe the "We're a non-smoking hotel bla bla bla".. Ask for room 524 or 523 - they are "DESIGNATED SMOKERS ROOM - I'm not quite sure if each floor has smokers room. But these 2 rooms had a sign on the door.... Yihhaaa

Dear Spunk99,

Thank you very much for your review about your recent stay here at the Bailey's.

I was pleased to read that the facilities we are offering lived up to your expectations, however please rest assured that the issues you experienced with the water pressure are currnetly looked into by our Director of Engineering.

The Bailey's indeed has three smoking rooms available on a request basis only.

I do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you soon back.

“Tatty dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Got booked here for a business meeting, but would not recommend it. Very dated, tatty decor; 20 GBP charge for 1 day of snail speed WiFi; TV doesn't work; doorman watches you carry luggage up front steps; only usable electric outlets require crawling under desk; sink lacks "integrated tap"; glasses not washed; etc., etc. I've seen worse, but this is the dumpiest place I've stayed in for quite awhile.
