I have stayed at this hotel before - its cheap and cheerful and local to where I was working. Lat time, no problems. This time we got to the room and there wasn't the usual sofa to sit on. All there was was a desk chair and the bed. I enquired at reception, and was told that if you book a family room you get the sofa, but if you book a double room you dont get it, althoiugh the price is the same. I pointed out that I had stayed at several Travelodges over the years, never booked a family room, but always got a sofa. The receptionist said that most Travelodges only have family rooms, but this one has both. Thank you Travelodge for making this obvious!
No other real problems - breakfast was acceptable, rooms and corridors clean. One thing that did concern me was that late on Sat night there was a terrible commotion coming from the corridor - it sounded like someone was trying to kick the door of another room down. As there was no phones in hte room, and I couldnt see a telephone number for reception so I could ring on my mobile, there was nothing I could do. I certainly wasn't going to go into the corridor to investigate, as it sounded very violent.
