“Swing a cat, no chance.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

My partner and I booked this for one night at the last minute for £120 for the night room only. First appearance of the building and look of reception was great as were the very friendly front desk staff but the room - oh dear. Arms outstetched my fingertips touched both walls. A double bed was sqeezed in and was against the wall so someone on that side had to climb over the other person to get out of the bed. The flex on the kettle didn't reach from the table it was on to the plug socket below so we had to put the kettle on the floor. The kettle didn't fit under the tap in the tiny sink in the miniscule en-suite so we had to fill it by decanting water with multiple fills of the toothbrush mug. The windows were sash, single glazed, rattled, were drafty and let in all the 24 hour traffic noise from Cromwell Street below. I tried to deaden the noise by wetting towels and shoving them over the gaps but to no avail.
Breakfast was nice but we had to pay extra for that.
I suppose this place sells a rubbish, cramped noisy room like this on the basis of the location but no - a room is rubbish no matter where it is and if you can't plug in the kettle whoever designed it should be fired.

Room Tip: Do not ever get a room on the Cromwell Street side as the traffic noise is 24 hour and the windows a...

“Disappointed”

If you think this hotel is a local charming place as you'd think it is from the online advertising, you'd be very disappointed. The rooms are very tiny, even for European Standards. The bathroom is even more so - you can shower, brush your teeth and relieve yourself all at the same time !!! It takes 5+ minutes for hot water to show up in the shower, and when it does, you'll wind up with water all over the bathroom because they don't have anything to keep it from flying around - no curtains, no doors, just a cheap pane of acrylic. The Holiday Inn and Mariott are both just a few doors down from this place ... go there if you're a business traveler !!!!

Why did I give it a two rating? Because the staff does seem to try hard, even though the manager seems to be a bit of a pain to them.

Room Tip: "Free" high speed internet is in the lobby, not your room !!!

this hotel was really great, centred well, comfortable rooms, reasonable price, and nice lobby.
Nothing else to ask, fully recommended.

“Location yes, bathroom no, staff no.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

I stayed here for 3 nights (end of Octobre 2011). I booked this hotel because the hotel I normally book in London was full. The room was very basic, but ok. The bathroom (the shower) was not very hygienic and very small.
The staff was very rude.
I don't recommend this hotel, it was very basic (which can be ok) but having a filthy shower makes it a NO. The staff isn't the most important thing in your hotel, but if you don't even get a spontaneous 'hello', it is quite sad.

“Well located, clean but quite small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Me and my fiancée stayed four days in that hotel on the end of 2011 September. Our room was quite small and have no safe, but was clean and fresh sheets was provided daily. Furniture is quite old too. Breakfast was good and staff was very nice. The great advantage of this hotel is its location, near a good supermarket, shops, restaurants and tube station. Our room was oriented to the side street and has almost no noise at night, allowing us to sleep very well.
