“Convenient and close to here of town but rooms are VERY small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Review of Caesar hotel London - Kensington

This hotel is walking distance from Paddington station so is an easy place to get to from heathrow. It is also walking distance from Bayswater and Queensway Tubes and is easy to travel from.

This is a cheap and reasonable place to stay. It is a low profile hotel and non descript externally. It has a pleasant entrance and is manned 24 hours a day at reception.

I was in a 'superior' room on the top level 4th floor so I would hate to see the lesser rooms as the superior room is very small with average fittings. I am new to London and am told small rooms are the norm here so i think you need to bear this in mind for any rooms in London?

The room itself was a little run down fixtures wise ie peeling veneer off the cupboards, a wonky bath/shower, aging mirrors and was in need of some renovation. The rooms despite their age were well maintained and the linen and towels were clean and crisp.

I had a window on the top floor but there was nothing to look at except the other side of the street.

There was no iron or ironing board in the room but on asking reception, they promptly delivered them and took them away when you left them outside the room.

Internet is free for an hour each day and if you need more you have to pay £7 a day to use it.

They had room service which was quick and prompt. I ordered a club sandwich which was around £12 which was reasonable. I did not use the dining room as I ate out so can't rate the meals or breakfast which may or not have been included in your room rate. If you did not have breakfast in your room rate, they handed you a discounted voucher for breakfast if you were interested.

They also supplied a paper each day complimentary.

I ordered the room over the Internet and was accidentally short a day. The additional day was cheaper to order direct than to order over the Internet so worth a call direct to see if you can get better rates?

They were always polite and professional and greeted you when you arrived or departed from the hotel. They even stored my luggage after I had checked out in the morning at no charge and hand over the luggage later in the day when I needed it to leave.

Overall this place was ok.

Room Tip: get a superior. Anything less and I think you will be disappointed

hank you for your detailed review, we appreciate your feedback.

I am pleased that you on the whole enjoyed your stay at The Ceasar. We strive to achieve the highests levels of customer care and service.

I am unsure as to what you mean by "low profile" Hotel but I would like to point out that we have recently been awarded a Silver Award for outstanding service and hospitality by Visit England, one of only 8 Hotels in London to hold this award.

Our superior rooms are our basic entry room types and are therefore the smallest in terms of floor space. We offer rate parity on our web sites and over the phone selling, however our rooms rates can change every 24 hours depending on occupancy levels.

We are well under way with some in room refurbishments however th 4th floor is still to be attended too during this year.

Thank you again for your feedback and I hope that we can welcome you back again in the future.

“Lovely stay-highly recommended.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I booked a room for one night for a theatre trip with my mum.
we booked a twin room however we were given a double. We told them about it and they changed immediately and were apologetic.
the staff were wonderful, so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to explain things to us and give us directions.
The hotel itself is lovely looking, nice decor, clean smart and in a great area. Really convenient for london paddington.
the room was really attractive, bathroom was small but we had everything we needed and it was very clean.
the breakfast was lovely and the bar service and staff were great also.
was very impressed with this hotel and it's value for money when you compare it to other, really basic hotels with similar room prices. Would definitely recommend!

“Modern but the rooms are small”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed in a twin room in January for 2 nights. It was on the second floor overlooking Queens gardens. The room was very small although the bathroom was a nice size. The room got very warm during the night and it was very noisy on Sat night with guests returning late to the hotel.

The location is great, very near Paddington station and Lancaster Gate tube station.

“Great boutique type of hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I stayed for 3 nights in an executive room with windows on both sides. Although it was practically over the street, being in a quiet residential area meant no noise. The room was not big but appeared renovated and with lots of natural light. The bed was amazingly comfortable and soft! Staff were helpful, polite and very quick in delivering. It was better than what I expected. My only remark would be the TV was kind of complicated to switch channels, believe it or not. But then location is great and you can walk to Hyde Park and even Notting Hill, which by London's dimensions is great! Tube station is close, too. Overall, enjoyed my stay and if in London, would be back.

I am sorry that you found the TV difficult to operate. We do have a small problem with the remote controls in some rooms which we are working on with the manufactor.

I hope that we can welcome you again in the future.

“SOOOO expensive! not worth it!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I stayed for 4 nights at the Caesar during thanksgiving! It was so expensive for what it was. the rooms were small. it was not a 4 star hotel. the bathroom was so small, i can barely move around to dry my hair and there was a bad stench ilke the staff didn't clean it properly.

hotel staff was rude and did not really understand english very well - given it is england - i thought id have no problem speaking to anyone in english!!!

our room was facing the street, and was quite noisy at night from all the guests coming back from the bars.

location is okay. surrounding areas of bayswater isn't very london for you! lots of asian restaurants and very touristy.

I would not return. its way too expensive. if it was half the price. may be i'll consider returning

Thank you for your review, I am sorry to learn of your disfatisfaction with your stay with us, your feedback is very rare and far from the norm.

We do not decide our star ratings, this is undertaken by Visit Britain via a mystery stay inspection, in fact in December 2011 not only was our four star ratings maintained we were given a silver award for outstanding service and hospitality, one of only 8 Hotels in London to have this award.

I am sorry that you did not raise your comments to us at the time of your stay, we would have done eveything possible to recitify them.

Bayswater/Hyde Park area is situated within zone 1 the most central district of London and has excellent tube and transport links.

On behalf of my team, we apologise that we did not meet with your expectations.
