“Almost perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

Booked a club room for 5 nights. We had the 601 which is on the top floor, the view is descent and the room quite satisfying. Very clean, like in the pictures. The breakfast was ok, not many choice in the continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great, very calm and nice neighbourhood and at only 5 minutes from Kensington gardens and two tube stations ! Will certainly try to book there first next time Ill go to London !

“We were downright scammed - Don't be fooled!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I visited this hotel for one night on February 2012. We've canceled original 2-Star hotel rooms we booked near Kings Cross, traded them for 80GBP "Special Deal" in this 4 Star hotel to be closer to central London and honestly, to have a better room.
The pictures on EasyToBook showed beautiful rooms so it seemed like a great bargain all in all.

Arriving prior to checkin time, we couldn't see the rooms. We arrived at night and got actual keys (not electronic ones) and were sent to room 002 & 003 (street level rooms). To our sad surprise those rooms turned out to be old and ugly - the rooms you expect to find in 2 star hotels if you're lucky. See the pictures for yourself and you'll understand

The toilets in my room didn't flush, and my colleague told me he had to actually bend in the shower because the shower head was so low.
There wasn't much to do, as we were told on checkin the hotel was booked solid and we arrived late.
On checkout I mentioned that honestly, I don't think we should be charged 80GBp for the rooms we got. I do have to note we complained on check out and the manager spoke to us and listened kindly, but we were checking out so there was nothing much he could do. He gave us his card claiming we will be upgarded in this hotel next time we checkin, but neither him or the receptionist wrote down this promise so I doubt that will happen.

Room Tip: Don't agree to checkin to rooms on street level (rooms 001-004) - they're horrible, 2-stars...

“Beautiful hotel , ideal location”

My husband and I stayed here 2nd -4th February as we had tickets to see Cirque at the Royal Albert Hall. It took us 10 mins to walk from paddington station to the hotel.
On arrival we were immediately upgraded to one of the new club rooms for no reason at all and I must say what a lovely room. It ticks all the boxes! we were on the 5th floor which sounds like your in the skies but it certainly didn't feel like it.
Continental breakfast was included, which again ticked all the boxes. Plenty of selection and if that wasn't to your taste you could upgrade to the full cooked (help yourself) .
Staff were very pleasant and I felt comfortable in their presence. The hotel is near to queensway, Knightsbridge, Oxford street all within a 20 minute walk. We didn't have a taxi at any time as it was easier to walk everywhere.
We will definitely go back to this hotel! Thank you

“Quality hotel in a quiet classy area with easy access to central london”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Quality hotel on the outskirts of central London with easy access to subway just a few minutes walk away, or by bus at the end of the road, or black cabs that pass right outside the hotel on a regular basis looking for fares. Extremely pleasant and clean rooms with well mannered attentive staff. Excellent plentiful breakfast's that cater for most taste's. Well stocked cocktail bar albeit a little pricey, however there is a lovely little more affordable pub just over the road that does good pub grub and another just down the Bayswater Road towards Lancaster Gate tube station, recommend both. We had a standard twin room No 205 which overlooks the very pleasant hotel front, it was quiet, smart and clean with tv and tea/coffee facilities. It also had a bath with full flowing shower over the bath, our friends next door only had a shower so be sure to state which you prefer when booking your room. We booked on line and got a deal around £350 for 3 nights with continental breakfast included, we then chose to upgrade to a full English buffet breakfast for another £5.50, well worth it in our opinion, although if you like your eggs fried instead of the readily available scrambled then be sure to ask for them early enough as they only cook them to order, and that sometimes takes a while, and the slightly annoying conveyor belt toaster, no matter how you adjust it, toast takes at least 3 times around to be anything more than warm bread. We would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it on to others, and many thanks to the very helpful and pleasant staff as they make it what a hotel should be, a very enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are good and upgrading to a junior suite we feel is not worth the money, you need...
