“Great weekend break hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We enjoyed 2 nights here recently and found it to be ideal for our needs. Its location is fantastic, very close to Marble Arch, Hyde Park and Oxford St but the room was very quiet. We had booked room only but were offered a good reduction on breakfast so took that up (£19 down to £12.50) and found the choice and food quality to be very good - glad we chose to do this.
Staff were very helpful and friendly from check in to when we had a query with our bill which was dealt with efficiently and effectively.
The room and bed in particular were comfortable, bathroom well kitted out, and we came away saying we would definitely stay here in future when visiting London.

Room Tip: Standard rooms a bit small, executive rooms may be worth the extra

“There's plenty worse than this hotel in central London”

I've stayed here twice. The first room I had was excellent with great views. The second not so good on a floor that smelled of cigarettes. But overall it's better than other Radissons in the capital.

Dear Guest

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review of your recent stay with us. I was delighted to read that you enjoyed the view from your room, we really are proud of our central location and it is always a pleasure to hear that our guests appreciate this, so much so that
you decided to return.

I was sorry to read that the floor on which you stayed during your second visit was not to your satisfaction due to the smell of cigarettes. Due to guest demand we provide a very small number of rooms for smokers and occasionally this can be smelt on one of the corridors, however this is very rare. In future if you are not entirely happy with your room we would be more than happy to move you to a different location within the hotel which I am sure would leave you satisfied, however, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this caused you during your stay and we hope that we will remain your number one choice of hotel when visiting central London.

In the meantime if you wish to provide further feedback on how we can improve the guest experience, please do not hesitate to contact me via email stefanie.korte@radissonblu.com or by telephone on +44 207 208 6000.

I look forward to welcoming you on your next trip to London.

Kind Regards

“Very disappointing for a Radisson”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Booked this hotel as was attending a conference here. I assumed that with it being a Radisson it would be of a certain standard knowing the brand from other hotels...
I agree with a lot of both the positive and negative comments on here however my overall rating is based on the poor customer service .. there was no real interest in me as a customer from most of the staff - bar the concierge who was quite helpful (although you would expect that bearing in mind their role!). You would expect that on checking out you would be asked about your stay... this wasnt the case. I was so pleased just to be checking out anyway I didnt want to spend any longer there had I been asked anyway.
In summary:
- business room very dated and noisy - noise including plumbing from above rooms, - glass bottles being thrown into skip at rear of hotel at both midnight at 2am (I admit this may not be from the hotel but it does affect your overall experience);
- very dusty in bedroom - especially on ledge behind bed;
- bathroom not to a standard you would expect - eg hairs in the bath;
- no hot water in the morning;
- plug socket hanging off wall behind table;
- sign on door stated I could access free movies during business stay - no instructions on how to do this;
- room service was a let down (with a charge of £4 not what you would expect) - the meal I ordered wasnt available yet I was still charged for it ...
I feel it was every expensive (£210) despite its very good location...I wish I had booked to stay in a Premier Inn - you know what you are getting for your money then.
I will take the time to write to the hotel to get their comments.

“Great location - rooms a bit shabby.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012
2
people found this review helpful

I stay at Radisson hotels quite frequently and arrived fresh from the Radisson Royal in Dubai only to be starkly reminded that I was back in central London when i opened the room door after a 90 minute wait in the lobby. The room was dated and shabby and for some reason I had a disabled room and all the extra cords, buttons and railings seemed to detract further from the appearance. As a gold Carlsson member it was all a bit dissatisfying.

However, i did have to change my flight arrangements and left at 8 PM the same night and received an unasked for reduction of GBP120 in the daily rate. It was then that i realised that all Central London hotels do show there age a bit but that the staff here were all super friendly and helpful wherever possible. The waiter Karthik in the lobby area is a real testament to great service and attention Nice one :-)

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for taking your time to review your recent stay with us. I was disappointed to read that we were not able to meet your expectations when it comes to the room you had been given. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincerest apology for the allocation chosen for you. Considering you are a Gold Elite member we considered a larger room to be appropriate, I can however understand that the emergency cord and button can be misleading.

We are aware that the hotel is in need of a refurbishment and I am pleased to confirm that we are in the process of planning such. Until a date is set we will be softly upgrading where necessary in order to maintain the standard our guests expect from us.

I do hope that this recent experience does not deter you from returning to the hotel in the near future as we would be delighted to welcome you back to the hotel. Until then, please do not hesitate to contact me either via telephone on +44 (0) 207 208 6000 or via email on stefanie.korte@radissonblu.com in case I can be of any further assistance.

With kind regards,
