“Excellent Quality and Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We made our booking at the last minute and in a rush, without having read any reviews, and were delighted with the quality of the Anchor House Hotel. It is beautifully clean, warm and comfortable and the decor and furnishings are of a high quality. The en-suite shower room was new, modern and ultra-clean. Room extras include wi-fi, hair-dryer, fridge and iron. The buffet breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It is only a minutes walk from Golders Green tube station and close to the M1. We will book earlier next time to secure one of the 5 free parking spaces although £7 per day to park on the road was not too bad. A very pleasant experience which I would recommend to anyone. The price is very reasonable too.

Room Tip: Book early to secure a free parking space.

“a super little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We came across this little hotel trawling the web, wanted a clean and inexpensive place near central London. The Anchor came up trumps!
You get free parking,a really good continental b/fast,clean warm bedroom, they have recently upgraded and refurnished their rooms and the small showerroom was excently finished and sparklingly clean. The trip via the u/ground takes about 20 mins, ticket all day was £7.30 so not too expensive particularly if are going to travel round the sights.
The staff were helpfull and very friendly, all in all we thought you could`nt beat the place and are already going to book there again.
Highly recommended for the price and location.

Room Tip: get into b/fast as early as you can as there not enough tables for all the guests and you can wait a...

“Good things come in small packages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

I want to qualify my review by saying I only saw the entry, the breakfast room and my own single suite...

*VERY close to Golders Green Tube station
*right by the #210 bus route to go to Brents Cross mall
*LOADS of shops and restaurants nearby to choose from, as well as Sainsbury's for your own grocery shopping
*felt completely safe - as a female traveller on my own

*easy to book with
*helpful and friendly
*great breakfast (eggs, toast, cheese and crackers, fresh fruit - 5 kinds, canned fruit, 3 juices, coffee/tea, sweet pastries, croissants, cereal)
*modern, bright breakfast area
*single room was clean and small, but packed a lot in!
*VERY CLEAN and modern bathroom in the room (towel warmer seems standard, but nice touch!)
*flat screen TV (if you have time to watch TV!)
*coffee/tea in the room
*iron/iron board (although another reviewer was right.....not sure where I'd set it up!)

*cons? Lumpy pillows, very warm (which is not a con in winter, but was this time as London was warm!) and my door handle fell off just as I was checking out! They acknowledged it was "under repair"!! So really...nothing to complain about.

Thanks guys!!

Room Tip: Room #12 for the single traveller...

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

This hotel offers value for money. If you don't mind being out of Central London, the location is very convenient, with good bus and tube service. Management and staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but provide a lot of amenities for the price. Only complaint is that the mattress was soft and lumpy - time for a replacement.
