“Made to feel like a criminal”

I checked in after 11pm to this hotel and my head office had made the booking and paid for it.
The check in desk insisted I pay when the booking on their documentation clearly stated it had already been settled.
After lots of coming and going with wispering in the back room it was stated that the company card had been rejected and I would have to pay.
I suggested that I leave my card number as security but that we could sort this out first thing in the morning, I was booked in for two nights and had stayed previously as indeed had a number of my colleagues.
I was allowed to go to my room, it was now midnight and I had an early start the next morning.
fifteen minutes later the phone rang and when I answered it the reception guy asked me to bring down my passport!!!! Words fail me at the ineptitude of the staff...I could go on and on but I wont, I will never stay at this hotel again though, nor will my colleagues.

“Tiny Room, Great Location For Trains/Tube”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Paid £90.00 inc continental breakfast which was ok, plenty of choice & self service.
Fantastic location 2 mins walk from Euston, tube station opposite.
Easy checkin - arrived at 2pm and rooms were cleaned and ready, nice polite girl on reception
Traffic noise wasn't as bad as I expected for central London, 4th floor room.
Very small room though with sliding door into bathroom which didn't seem to want to stay closed. Double bed & luckily only single ocupancy as the wardrobe was very small.
Tea & coffee making facilities along with complimentary toiletries if you really want to cut down on items in your luggage.
Would say it's a typical 3 star type of hotel, similar to a Travel lodge or Ibis?
Never tried the wifi as could get a good 3G signal in room and breakfast room.
If you like a good pint of real ale - only just round the corner from the Bree Louise, well worth a visit, something like 17 real ales and 9 ciders to chose from, a fantastic find and not overpriced.

“Average hotel in a good location, nice breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel for five nights. The location is good if you plan to hang out in central London, with buses and tube nearby. The entrance of Euston Square station is actually just a few steps from the hotel.

The staff was helpful and they served a nice breakfast buffet

The room was small, but had what I needed. The TV worked fine. Because the hotel is located near a big road, it could be a little noisy, but not too bad. The room had a comfortable temperature (which could be adjusted)

The bathroom was nice and clean.

They provided free WIFI, which unfortunately didn't work in my room, but in the lobby it worked fine.

I was a bit annoying that the keycard for the room stopped working quite a few times. I had to go to the reception to make them "recharge" it, or whatever they did. But it wasn't a big deal.

Wouldn't mind staying there again.

“The wifi that wasn't”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We choose this place because of the convenience and wifi. The hotel is convenient, but the wifi is very flaky.
Even when we arrived the receptionist advised us wifi was difficult to connect to in our room when there were many users because the signal would be loaded down. It is a rubbish explanation - that's not how wifi works. We got a good connection for one computer, but nothing worked when we tried to second device. This looks like they have misconfigured wifi.
You can use it at the breakfast room is better, but slow.

The shower is mold, but otherwise it is clean. The breakfast was pretty good.

“comfortless in every way...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

surly reception, ground floor disabled room by reception for an able-bodied traveller at 10.30 pm at night (too tired to say - "why?'), the smell of carpet freshener so strong it made my eyes water, cold - no additional heating or blankets, edges of the room dirty, bed hard and, when i made a cup of tea in effort to cheer myself up - the cup had a 3 inch crack in it in addition to a couple of good size chips in the rim. No hairdryer, or even power socket anywhere near the mirror. needed v good eyesight to see the tv as was tucked away in an alcove a good 16 feet from the bed head - I'm sure if you are in London for the night, or for a business meeting you can do better than this - I checked out at 5am, Euston Rd and the early morning traffic cheering me up.
It's close to the station... that's about all it's got going for it.

Room Tip: let's just say - ring them in advance and ask for options...
