Appreciating that this will be one of the cheaper hotels in the London area, do not expect any luxuries whatsoever.
Right from the start where you are greeted by a not particularly welcoming reception area, to the rooms which are very cramped with paper thin walls (you can hear almost everything happening in the rooms either side and from the corridor). You almost feel as though you are staying in a pre - fabricated building or a portacabin. To its credit however, the rooms themselves are reasonably clean, although not spotless.
in addition, the breakfast area is extremely dreary, and like the reception is not at all welcoming. it almost leads to quite a depressing start to your day.
I would only recommend this hotel if you are on an extremely tight budget, otherwise I would suggest spending more and find a more upmarket hotel.

this place should be shut down 89 quid to stay in a filthy room ,,,no refunds given had to beg for a reciept which was farsicle, only actually stayed 5 hours got up early and went over the cafe for breakfast like the rest of the people i didnt want to give it any rating. old blankets muck under the bed someones jacket in the wardrobe (must have been at work) im sure ive rated this hotel before but cant find my comments ?no water for a shower in the cubicle that was made fior the borrowers , foul, dirty, seedy! place i can only imagine what that room is used for ! 2 tiny beds crammed in , plaster knocked off the wall behind the head board ,when we got to the travel lodge it was heaven ,,,hot water clean bedding

The hotel wasn't clean, we had to move the bed because we dropped something and it was disgusting behind there, hadn't been moved for a long time, the kitchen staff talked in their own language and didn't communicate with the guests, very little choice for the continental breakfast, however the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

A lot of these reviews are bashing the place, which is unfair. First determine what you want before deciding (you can't compare a low cost B&B on the same rating scale as the Hilton).

If you need:
Low cost
Room to just sleep & get ready in
Something clean (not spotless)
Good location

Then yes, boom the Guilford. BUT if you're looking for anything additional like good service, amenities, a spacious room/bath, etc. the don't stay!

London is expensive! I paid £50 for a single room, but I actually felt lucky for that price to have my own room and bath.

The other reviewers need to put it in perspective a little.
