Rooms are a bit dated but clean. Drainage easily solved by removing plugs! Not anywhere near Waterloo but a nice walk along the river and location isn't bad for the price. The staff were friendly and the food both in the bar and restaurant and at breakfast were excellent. I will stay here again. For the money this is good value.

“great view - poor service”

on the plus side :
- great view over Lambeth Palace and big Ben
- standard Novotel room, which means large space and good bathroom according to London satandards at least (usually poor !)
- rather good price, especially if you can catch one of their offers on Novotel web site

On the negative :
- poor restaurant (named "elements"), both in terms of location into the hotel and food offer. We went to the buffet dinner on a Friday night. Looked liked the USSR in the 80' : cold food, no choice ... and no guest by the way !
- poor service. The satff was very junior and unable to help as they tried to "stick to the rules". for example one of them tried to charge me 10 pounds to lend me an electrical adaptator. Another one did not want me to sign the bill and insisted on an immediate payment as "no account was open under my room n°", though I was a guest at the hotel.
- tube station far away (10 - 15 mn walk). Well, that can be considered as excellent for your health ...
- one lift out of order for more than 24 hours on saturday and sunday. Welle guess what, it took at least 10 mn to go down and up for breakfast. I assumed they would have a 24-hour service contract to maintain the lift
- no free wifi ... and indecent paying options (15 pounds a day !)

All together the place could be given a better mark if some of the minus below were quickly reviewed. this hotel rates below the expectation of a regualr guest of Novotel.

Thank you your detailed review following your recent stay with us. I was glad to see you stayed with us before and decided to return again. Your feedback about the restaurant has been shared with our Food and Beverage Manager who will address these issues with the team. With regards to the adaptor I can inform you that the £10 is a deposit only and will be returned at the end of your stay. The nearest tube station to the hotel is indeed Lambeth North however bus connections to many areas in London are available next to the hotel. I hope you will consider staying with us again in the future and look forward to welcoming you back.

Clean spacious room 5th floor had view of big Ben London eye and post office tower. Close to tube. Near to west minster. Extensive choice of breakfast. Friendly staff. I would definitely stay again

Stayed for three nights on a work trip booked by the company.
The location is good for central London but around 15 - 20 mins walk to the nearest tube ( Vauxhall or Lambeth North)
The room was spacious and the bathroom had both a shower and bath. There is a separate toilet
The tv had a lead to connect my iPod which was a nice touch and enabled me to play music in the room and also the shower
A big minus was no free wi-fi which is standard in the majority of hotels. Luckily the phone signal was ok but it prevented me calling my daughter on FaceTime which I would have liked
The bed felt like an army camp bed and when I looked under it I found it was a contraption that folded against the wall presumably to aid cleaning. Not at all comfortable
The worst aspect of the room was the heating / air conditioning which I had to leave off due to the noise. It rattled even when switched off but was just bearable. The mini bar fridge was also noisy
The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly
I had a bar meal twice both very late at night. One meal was fine but on the other occasion I had ordered a dessert which failed to arrive after almost an hour. My colleagues three course in the mean time and I gave up and went to bed . I was assured it arrived sometime later and they found it delicious
The hotel overall is ok and the staff tried their best but after 3 nights of little sleep I needed a holiday
Would much rather stay at one of the Park Plazas nearby for similar money.

With regards to the internet I can inform you that this is available for free on one of the computers in the lobby or when booking an Executive room. With regards to the internet I can inform you that we have terminals available in the lobby where internet can be accessed free of charge.
