On arrival: indeed walking distance from Old Street undergroud station, but hotel stating 200m, make that more than 500m. Still OK. Then check-in. Done via the hotel´s website, but still trouble to find the reservation and assigning a room quickly. Luckily when entering the room I was pleasantly surprised. The refurbisched room is nicely decorated, decent size, a good bed, quiet, and a nice, although small bath room. And after all that is the most important. However, more flaws present themselves when leaving your room. Lifts are not working properly, ignoring buttons pushed. Front desk is not too much bothered by this. Then internet: why charge? Why so much (GBP 15 per 24hr)? And why is it so slow at peak times? Then breakfast: you only value English clients by serving only English breakfast? No cheese, no cold cuts, as only alternative sweet bread spreads or cereals? I will only come back when other hotels of the same type and value are full or when reading here that you took notice and improvements have actually been implemented (and that is not only renovation of the hotel).
Room Tip: Front is a busy street, back is a quiet residential area.
