“One Aldwych is No1!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

An amazing stay at the hotel on business, I stayed in an Exec room. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you, the room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable with decent bed linen - too many hotels now have cheap quick turnaround duvet covers, but not the Aldwych. The turn down service was great, change of flowers in the room every day and the chambermaids were lovely. Cocktails were good too and although a little pricey they were good qualtiy and well made. Great bathrooms too with a nice sunken bath and gym was good also with friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again and intend on going back but this time for pleasure.

“Very trendy, minimalistic, friendly staff & superbe service”

I loved it here. I stayed for 3 weeks (on business) and had a special deal including breakfast. It was still very expensive, but the service and quality were great.
Try the eggs benedict for breakfast - they are truely heavenly and must not be missed!
The rooms are minimalistic, but you find everything you need. There is even a tv in the bathroom (in some or all rooms?) and you can watch tv while having a bath or standing in the shower.
The location is also very convenient, close to the river and a short walk away from Covent Garden.

“Personal touch in the heart of London”

What surprised us most about One Aldwych was the friendliness of the staff, from the warm welcome by the doormen to the helpful receptionist who took us to our room and explained the many features to us. When you add the well-appointed high-tech rooms, the beautiful pool, the convenient location and a tasty breakfast it is very hard to fault this hotel. We were upgraded to an executive room which had just about everything you could need, and though it wasn't big it is in central London where space is at a premium. We had an excellent massage in the spa, followed by a swim in the chlorine-free pool (your eyes don't sting after swimming!). There is also a sauna, steam-room and well-eqipped gym. A thoroughly pleasant experience - congratulations to the staff and management.

“Great Hotel, great location.”

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was fantastic, we had a large room at the front of the building (on the curve). The resturant downstairs is great and the cocktails are a must! Walking distance of Leister Sq, etc. A great place to stay if you have the €£$......

“One Aldwych- Number 1 in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

London is the one city where accommodation has disappointed me most. Not One Aldwych though. It was the best experience I have had in any London hotel. Perfectly located, clean and friendly.

The bar- Before I arrived I asked them if they stocked a particular Champagne. They did not, but by the time I arrived, they did. Great service. The door-men are dressed sharply and are always pleasant on arrival. The bar staff were excellent and very knowledgeable. My party had some very tricky requests and they dealt with them promptly and with aplomb.

The rooms were clean and much bigger than some other notable London hotels. The bathrooms too were big (and looked so good I photographed them so I could get my bathroom at home done in the same style) and the TV by the bath was a nice touch. The bed was very comfy and the pillows were so good I was tempted to swipe them. (I didn't) On one occasion a bulb went out in my room. It was fixed two minutes after my call to reception.

The breakfast was very good. All was made to order and they had some of the best orange juice I have ever tasted. The food sometimes took longer to come out than I would have liked, but service was never unacceptable.

Bad points? Not many. The hotel has a weird vacuum pump plumbing system which makes a loud noise any time you run a tap. This didn't bother me particularly, but my wife-to-be found it annoying. The newspapers at breakfast were not ones that an Irish socialist like me would choose, but that's not the end of the world. All in all it was a great place to stay.
