I stayed here with my husband last weekend.
We checked in and were supposed to be upgraded as he is a Platinum member (ie stays in Radissons for almost a fifth of his life!). So when we got to our room we were a bit surprised. It was the tiniest double I'd ever seen and the wardrobe door was jammed. If you're on business OK, you're never in your room, but this was our child free weekend away! We went downstairs for a drink, and I persuaded my husband to go and have a quiet word at reception.
Fortunately for us the Guest Services Manager Luke, was behind the concierge desk. He couldn't do enough for us, he was efficient, courteous, and made our trip. The staff are all (except the check in girl we had!) excellent. They are friendly without being overwhelming and incredibly efficient. The housekeeping staff all treat you to a friendly smile.
We were given a bigger room with a bigger bed, and a bottle of wine for the hassle of moving. This was on the fifth floor overlooking some flats. The decor in all the rooms is exceptional. I really liked the breakfast buffet. And even just having a drink in the bar was enjoyable. Some of the ornaments and pictures are fab.
We stayed in the Mayfair last year, and I prefer this. It's smaller but benefits from that I think. The restaurant was good in the evening, it was one of the coldest nights of the year and we just didn't want to walk anywhere. We went to the theatre and it was a ten minute walk down to the theatres on Shaftesbury.
If we hadn't had the hassle to begin with I'd have given this five stars, as our trip would have been perfect.
I'd love to know what scent they use in the lobby!
