The front desk staff were helpful friendly and efficient when we arrived and as we were early let us check in to our room 302 which was very hot when we entered but as it was a lovely sunny afternoon we did not worry to much. The room was clean bright had al you could want for a 3 night stay fridge, microwave, electric hob, dishwasher, washing machine and crockery etc (though no teapot and cups we would have preferred mugs for a good drink on a morning but that’s a personal preference), the main living area had a small table with two chairs a TV and settee whilst the bed was separated by a stoothing wall with a viewing panel cut out to keep the bedroom area light and airy off this was the bathroom had a walk in shower and toilet basin area all very good.
Generally we were very happy with the room but it really needed air con as during our stay the temperature seemed at best warm and during the night excessively hot if you did not leave the two fans on or open the sliding door onto Bermondsey Street to let cool air blow through (Not an option if you’re a light sleeper or there’s a lot of road or foot traffic coming and going) and the fans tended to push the warm air around if this problem was solved it would be a lovely room well appointed. The other niggle we had was with the lights, as with another reviewer it was more like rocket science getting the lights on or off especially late at night when you’re tired and had a long enjoyable day out and about, this just needs sorting or explaining !!!!.
The location of the apartments was ideal very handy for Tower Bridge and More London area (See my review of Strada Riverside More London) also Northern line and mainline trains at London Bridge about a 10 to 15 minute walk, Bermondsey Street was serviced well with Bars, Restaurants and a Sainsbury’s, M& S and Tesco’s all walkable especially Sainsbury’s just round the corner. We found Bermondsey Street had a good vibe about it not to hectic but enough to keep you occupied and well fed and watered after a long day round the attractions of London but accessible to the West End and all other areas if you wanted .Anther god location to visit nearby is the Borough Market open Thursday, Friday and Saturday selling food and drink to buy or eat whilst there excellent and very atmospheric.
Although it had a couple of annoying faults we found the accommodation and location very good and the time we spent there was enjoyable more akin to living in an area of London were locals live and work as to being surrounded by hotels and offices.
