We arrived at this hotel after lastminute.com relocated us. The first hotel was awful, and we couldn't have stayed there, so we asked for a relocation. Lastminute.com eventually relocated us to this hotel, which was just down the road from our first option. When we arrived they didn't have our booking, so we had to wait around in the reception/dining room for the booking confirmation to come through. When we described the first hotel room we went to the gentleman looked uncomfortable and asked if we would like to see the room we would be staying in. We said we would, as the size of the first room was impossible tiny, so we asked for a bigger one. He took us down to a family room at the front of the property, and in the hallway there was a stream of water pouring from the light fitting. Not a great start, but the gentleman told us it was ok and it had been fixed. The hallway was filling up with water quite rapidly, and we were lucky this didn't reach our room! It was really warm in the corridors, but inside the room was freezing - the heating wasn't on and we couldn't get it to work. Inside the room was a double bed, a single bed and an en-suite bathroom. The en-suite was big enough and decorated ok, but the room itself was of a very poor standard. The beds were old and broken, and there were no plug sockets, except the one that had the old fridge plugged into it. Why they would leave an old fridge in a hotel guest room I have no idea! The furniture was all very old and worn and we could hardly get the drawers open in one unit! We decided not to stay here, as at £55 a night it was very expensive. I would rather have stayed in a hostel than this room, and probably would have trusted my belongings to be safer in a hostel! As it turns out, the room was recommended to lastminute.com by the previous hotel, so we feel that they must have been relatives in order to keep our money!
