“Staff is friendly but toilets could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2011

We had two rooms right at the top floor. It was a climb with bags and all. The rooms were acceptably clean and we had clean towers everyday. The shared bathroom/toilet arrangement is not good, some guests are less considerate than others, which means sometimes you have the entire bathroom floor wet and blocked toilets. The walls are thin, which means you can hear your neighbours. Breakfast was the worse we had in any B&B in the UK, terrible croissont and no hot breakfast at all, just plain cereals and toast. They ran out of hot choc on our second day there and was never back on the menu for the rest of our stay. Not worth the price we had to pay, but the staff were friendly.

“do not stay here its for your own health”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2010

i have not got a good thing to say about this place,i arrived with my friend at 8;30 saturday 29th may ,when we got there our room was unavailable so we had to go in a single room.there wasnt enough room for one let alone two however we were given a refund of ten pound between us ,should have spent that on bleach to clean the room especially the toilet i,it was disgusting .we were told we would get a new room in the morning .as we werent ready when the cleaner came reception had the cheek to complain to us about still being in the room, although our new room wouldnt be ready for three hours and a half hours.we were pleasantly surprise with the size of the new room but that soon turned into horror as i awoke with bite marks .luckily i had only one night left there .when i returned that evening my friend made a cup of tea the first cup was chipped and had a ,big crack in it,so we decided to to take it in turns .it was full of scum .the very next day i awoke with more bite marks(must have only liked me my friend didnt get bitten).we got ready quicky as i couldnt spend anymore time there, we took our suitcases to the train station so we didnt have to go back to the hotel .it didnt matter how much it cost for the luggage i couldnt go back there .since returning home i cant stop feeling sick or dirty .here is a list of things we found wrong with it (hope you have a strong stomach) dirty toilet ,cold shower, dirty sheets and blankets, broken shower attachment, pubic hair on bathroom floor and i urge you not to go there i would sleep on a park bench first audra from wigan.ps never tried breakfast wasnt brave enough.

“Hotel from Hell!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2010

I really wish I had visited this site and read the previous reviews before I booked this hotel.

Horrendous is the only word that sums it up. When I arrived with my two friends, excited to spend the weekend together in beautiful London, my heart sank as we climbed up the grotty, neglected staircase to our room. The gross toilet smell that hung throughout the corridor and outside our "room" was also off-putting. I couldn't believe how misleading the internet photos where, to say the room we were in and the one we thought we had booked were totally different is an understatement! There were three beds, shoved together with no bedside table, the paint was peeling off the ceilings. The only decoration was the hairdryer hanging on a hook on the wall. Not to mention the flimsy "lock" on the door- forget any sense of security. After clambering over the beds to reach the bathroom, I was shocked to find the toilet dirty, no towels or toiletries ( apart from a tiny bar of soap left on the bed) as promised on the website and no sanitary bin. There was mould in the shower, I wouldn't wash my dog in there. No shower curtain, no soap by the sink, no hygiene whatsoever. And certainly no space to put your luggage.

I was so horrified and disappointed, and since I felt I would be unsafe staying there at night I left London that same day. There was no way I would sleep there, and despite the good price and good location, it is simply not worth it, I guarantee it will ruin your trip. Never, ever again. Don't make the same mistake we did!

“BED BUGS!!!! DO NOT BOOK!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2009

- BED BUGS! Hundreds of bites to deal with!. Cost over 300 Pounds in medical care, moving to a last minute hotel, and cleaning all of our belongings before returning home.

- Black Mold covering bathrooms and showers.

- Suffered a 2nd degree burn from extremely hot reading lamp - hotel had no first-aid equipment, so ended up with serious infection.

- Staff unfriendly and rude.
- Breakfast terrible
- Dirty rooms
- No electrical outlets - staff said "you can leave your mobile phone at reception for the night to charge it" - NO THANK YOU!!!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN SAFE, SANITARY CONDITIONS!

“You get what you pay (not much)”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2009

We had a four-persons-bedroom, lots of space, shared toilet which could not be locked, shared shower. Bedroom, toilet, shower were only on the service clean, dirt in the edges, etc. No bugs. Clean blankets. Watercookers tea and coffe free in the room. Breakfast simple: awfull croisant, some o.k. toast, marmelade, good cereals, and juice free to take. So I would say if you like clean and luxury don't go here. If you're on the budget, you can survive... Victoriastation is 10-15 minutes walk. Street feels save at night.
