“Convenient location in Paddington for business or short stays”

Spent a night here as I wanted to be close to Paddington Station. Just a short 3-5 minute walk away. Convenient also as tube at same location and station has taxi rank. Hotel 3 years old and modern as well as clean. My room was facing offices so don't pick rooms with this facing. Excellent shower but heating did not work and TV remote was faulty. Friendly reception staff. Would still use this place in future.

“Modern, clean and awesome staff”

I stayed in this hotel for a weekend. It is a very modern hotel, specially if you compare it with other ones in the city. The rooms are very clean. The bathroom is quite complete (with a shower and a separate tub). The silence is one of its features. Good breakfast. My return flight was cancelled due to the snow, and the reception staff helped me in searching for different options (one room, train, coach...), and gave me all the information I needed. They are very kind people. Its situation is great, as it is closed to Paddington station. In my opinion, one of the best hotels in London.

“Great experience”

I stayed at the Novotel paddington a few weeks ago and was very impressed with the service received from the minute i checked in until my departure.
The rooms were spacious and well mantained and what topped it off for me the reception
staff were fantastic, I was checked in by a young lady by the name of Rebecca whom was very professional and went out of her way to make us happy .

I will be certainely be returning.

Thanks for a great stay.

“Unpleasant experience”

I encountered a number of issues:

1. The bar manager claimed to be a know-it-all and refused to charge me in the local currency (GBP) on my credit card, whereas, if an option is presented to instead be charged in the home currency of the credit card, such option can be declined.

2. The man at the front desk, perhaps his name was Mohammed, has a taxi scam going. He apparently sent away the black cab he supposedly called for me (not sure if he actually did and if one actually arrived) because it would not fit all my luggage (although I had a black cab to the hotel with the exact same luggage), then ordered an unmetered van without informing me that it was unmetered and how much it would cost me. The van driver wanted to charge me ₤12 to Paddington station as per his ‘orders’ (apparently from his dispatch people). The fare I had paid from Paddington station to the hotel was ₤4·60. The van driver admitted that the hotel people get a cut.

3. The rooms are quite tight to move around, and the toilet that is separate from the bath is a major pain for lack of water to wash.

4. On my second night the sounds of the trains were disturbing.

The taxi scam is not exclusive to this hotel; I would order my own taxi next time regardless of hotel.

I am sorry to read you had a negative experience with us.

I can confirm that additional training based on your feedback is happening for the teams to better understand all the facilities and options of the credit card marchines.

For the taxi, I will discuss with the relevant individuals and I can asure you that our preferred option is always a black cab for central London and we would resource to a pre-booked taxi for airports as it is usually a cheaper option.

They had misplaced our prepaid confirmed booking, and didn't know that we were a family with two young children. Without calling us they had arranged that we would stay in another hotel nearby, but at a tiny room where not even all of our luggage could get in. The staff at the Novotel lied to us and said that it was a sofa in the room, but the receptionist told us that he had informed them that it was a tiny room with no more than a queen size bed. The staff at the Novotel also told us that we could get a discount and that we had to talk to the manager the next day. I talked to her, she said that she would phone me back, but never did.

It took several hours from we arrived at the Novotel Paddington Hotel until we were at the other hotel that they moved us to. They don't communicate all that much with each other at the Novotel Paddington, and I would recommend staying somewhere else if you it's important for you to go straight to the hotel room after arrival, instead of waiting for hours to go somewhere else.

Room Tip: Stay away.
