“Great stay”

We booked at the last minute, on one of those 'last minute' websites, on New Year's Eve, for 4 nights. We were fleeing from a horror hotel and needed a bed fast! We had a fabulous stay at the Beauchamp. Even though we had gotten the room for less than half price at the last minute, the staff treated us like royalty. It was definitely a haven after the horror we'd had at the previous hotel. The Beauchamp is well situated, close to Russell Sq, and around the corner from the British Museum. It is clean, friendly, and very comfortable. We didn't have the food there, as there are some fantastic restaurants in the area... the breakfast at the Beauchamp started too late for us (8am... we're early risers), but right near the Russell Sq tube station, is a cafe that opens for breakfast at 7am everyday but Sunday. When in London next, we will certainly stay here again.

Booked 2 rooms at the Beauchamp at the last minute. Got a good deal. Read some of the reviews below and asked not to be put on the lower ground floor.

Arrived early but still able to check into our rooms on the ground floor. Receptionist very helpful and welcoming. Both rooms were at the front of the hotel, but because the road is not a busy one we heard no noise.

Rooms aren't huge but bigger than I had expected. Modern tv with good range of channels. Incredibly comfortable bed. Well appointed bathroom. Very clean.

24 hour bar, again with very helpful attentive staff.

Location is great - away from the hussle and bustle of the very centre, yet walkable to the theatre district.

Will definitely book again whenever I have visiting family to London.

My hotel find of the year so far.

“Great location. Easy walk to most major attractions.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed there in route to Africa and was up graded. The room was great and had much more room then the one we had on our return. Ask for room 4. Do not stay in lower level. Breakfast is fair.

“Great location, and good value for money.”

Spent a weekend at the Beauchamp, and quite impressed in how well it was turned out and how clean the place was. We stayed in a double room, and while it was quite small, it was spotlessly clean. Location was great, right between two tube stops, Russel Square and Holborn. We had continental breakfast included in the rate, and the selection was good, although I would not pay the rather large price for this if not included as part of your stay. There is a bar in the hotel, or at least it's described as a bar by the hotel itself, however I would be going up the road to The Museum Tavern if you fancy a tipple. Wifi had to be paid for, which was a bit disappointing, but apart from that, nothing to grumble about. Next time I'm in London, think I can safely say I'll be checking back into The Beauchamp.

When my cab pulled up to the front door, I was slightly concerned because the lobby didn't look like much (it's not) and the flourescent lighting wasn't all that inviting (it's not). But the front desk attendant working (Romas) was very nice and once I got into my room, I was perfectly comfortable. It's not huge, but it's clean, well appointed and modern/new feeling. The bathrooms are clean as well. Bout a foot of space between the bed and the wall, which is tight, but I got used to it. Another plus, they have 24/7 room service sandwiches and bar.

I definitely recommend this for a business traveler looking for a good night's sleep at a decent rate. Not sure I'd recommend for families.

Room Tip: Shoot for 102, 202, or 302, as it's an end cap room, so it's a little more spacious than oth...
