“Disappointing - but great location and staff.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

I stayed here in December 2010 for one night in room 9. The hotel was easy to find and in a great location for kings cross/st pancras stations - no more than a five minute walk even lugging a big suitcase.

I just wanted a cheap hotel room to sleep in as I was only in London for one night and was so busy out sightseeing that I was only in the hotel for a few hours to sleep, which to be honest I was pleased about. The room was freezing, probably due to the fact it was snowing, minus 5 outside and the single-glazed windows were blowing through a draft - but after turning the heating up as high as it would go it eventually warmed up. A thick blanket that was on top of the bed had a stain on it but the actual duvet cover, pillowcases and sheet seemed clean. The door to the room had an inch gap at the bottom so light shone in from the hallway and you could hear everyone walking around. My room looked nothing like those on the website and it wasn't the best nights sleep i've had!

The staff were the best point of the hotel, very friendly and helpful and as I had to check out at 11am they looked after my suitcase for me while I attended a job interview. There was no hairdryer in the room but you can request one from reception along with the code for wifi.

Breakfast was in the basement room and when I entered there were no staff around. Assorted cereals, milk and fruit were out on the tables but anything else is made to order by the staff in the kitchen - to be safe I ordered coffee and toast which was fine.

I personally wouldn't stay here again but for one night just to sleep for a few hours, good location and for the price it was ok.

“A good experience :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

I stayed for 11 nights here - and it was my first real travel abroad on vacation since 1986!
The staff was friendly and helpful.
My room was what I expected/hoped for; it was (very) small and cozy enough for me. It had a sink, a small fridge, a desk and a cupboard (and the bed of course) I just needed a place to sleep and have breakfast. And I got what I paid for. :) No annoying noises from other rooms. A bit from outside, but that is to expect in a large city as London. The hotel is old and has a few "worn edges" but what was broken while I was there (the shower head and some tiles in the bathroom) were also quickly fixed.

Breakfast was also well made and tasted OK. Nothing to complain about there!

The only problem for me was that the WiFi network didn't work properly in my room - I solved it by sitting on the stairs to the dining room (basement) with my Netbook.. oh, well I could live with it. I didn't travel all the way to London to sit all the time with my PC :)

Location was perfect, a short walk to King's Cross Tube station - or a bit longer walk and I reached central London by foot. Isaw a lot of London this way. Great.

So all in all a pleasant experince. If it fits with my next trip to London I might just use the same hotel!

Greetings from Denmark

“Don't bother even considering booking this place.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2010

We booked a room here for a night, only to arrive and find out that they had given our room to another family who had extended their stay. They then told us that they had arranged a room for us in a (disgustingly nasty) hotel across the road. We then found out that the room we were actually staying in was £20 cheaper than the room we had booked - but they made us pay the full price anyway and refused to give us a refund. (Apparently the extra £20 is to cover their 'more expensive breakfast' - I must have missed out on the champagne and caviar in the morning, then).

The staff, including the hotel manager are unhelpful, totally unprofessional, and downright rude.

Never stay here.

“So dirty I'm surprised I didn't catch anything”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

Location of this place is fantastic - about a 5/10 minute walk from the main train station. - and that’s the only good thing about it!
As we had arrived during the easter holiday time for the business trip - we paid £97 each which was abit much, especially for what your getting!

Two rooms were booked and we had requested for ensuite for both, one was and the other room wasn't and the manager refused to refund the difference! Yet worse was to come, the rooms stank, the carpets were dirty...and my bed was broken- literally! as soon as you sat on the bed it sunk in the middle! The rooms seemed so unsafe at night and I really felt uncomfortable the whole night (on my broken bed!)

Can't remember breakfast- as I was getting over my aching back - thankfully as I was staying one night no long term damage was done!

But really, avoid this creepy, seedy little place that looks lovely from the outside but stinky from the inside- and don’t bring your kids here- they'll never forgive you!!

“Very good B&B budget hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2010

Lisa Court B&B is very close to King's Cross, St. Pancrass Station. If you are arriving to London by train, I would definately recommend this. Nice, friendly staff, clean rooms. The breakfast was included in the price, it was a good english breakfast. This hotel is located in a street with other B&B hotels in Camden. Trendy and safe area.
