“Nice Hotel - too noisey for a good nights sleep”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for friday and saturday night in February.

We'll start with the good points
-The girls in the restaurant are great, shout out to Marney (I hope this is spelt right!) who served us both nights and was great. The girls always had a smile on their face and if you wanted to they had a little chat with you, recommending places to go and things to do.
The food in the restaurant was really very good for a budget hotel, we ate there both nights and had their breakfast one morning too... excellent value and quality.

Now for the bad points, which unfortunately, are alot more than the good
-The hotel is in the renovated "Albert Dock" area of the city. The website didn't mention anything about just how much noise there would be, due to the number of bars around the area, we had one to the left and one to the right. On the Friday night we weren't able to get to sleep until 2am, and Saturday (when we were already very overtired and quite annoyed with the previous nights sleep) , it was closer to 3am. If you are a light sleeper, or like to sleep at all, I wouldnt reccomend this hotel. We did have a room that faced the courtyard overlooking the costa coffee and beatles museum however this didn't seem to block any noise at all.

Upon checking out the man on reception asked "was everything okay" i said no and explained the above, he looked very shifty and mumbled something about us being on a higher floor (we were only actually about 1/2 way up the hotel, and thought this would have given us LESS noise not more). He then gave us our carpark ticket and basically looked at us as if to say "is that all" ? I guess the "Good Night Guarantee" was conveniently forgotten here?!

Also, a minor couple of points, our room was FREEZING, and when we turned the air con on (not even at the highest) it became unberarable hot, there seemed to be no happy medium.

Secondly, there is a lack of decent lighting in the room, there is a strip of spotlights above the desk/dresser and then 2 tableside lamps, and the bathroom light.

We were very very dissapointed with this hotel, given that we have stayed in so many Premier Inn's before this really wasn't up to scratch. The front of house staff were miserable and felt like we were bothering them checking in and out , not great when you've just travelled 5 hours to get to their hotel !

I guess we will await one of their standard, copied and pasted responses....

“Brilliant hotel, shame about the outside noise.”

I could not fault this hotel, me and my partner have just stayed on a Friday and Saturday night in the premier inn hotel at Liverpool Albert Dock. It is the best premier inn I have ever stayed in, the hotel was immaculate, the staff were lovely and so friendly and the room was lovely. We stayed in a room that faced the road so I am not sure if those with rooms off the road had the same problem.... The noise! This is not at all to the fault of the premier inn as I can't really see what they could do about it. Liverpool Albert dock during the day is idyllic and an absolutely lovely place to stay it's just, a shame that at night it livens up a little too much. From about 1am onwards all you could really hear were drunks and cars speeding past/beeping there horns. If I could have shouted at those people I would have. I jus think it s such a shame that it lets the hotel down, as it really is a lovely place. The food was also delicious, althought the breakfast seems expensive if you fill yourself up enough it can be your lunch too. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant hotel just a shame about the outside noise.

Room Tip: Although you get a lovely view with a room facing the road, I would request a room away from the fro...

“Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed for one night on Thursday 9th Feb. The hotel is in a fab location right next door to the Beatles Storey and about a 10 minute walk to the centre although we did taxi to the Cavern at a cost of £3.50 each way. The check in at the hotel was quick and the room was fantastic so different from the standard Pi rooms (ALTHOUGH THEY ARE ALSO GREAT), huge beds and a fab view of the dock.
The breakfast was great all self serve and as much as you could eat, also served until 11am which is great if you have had a late night!! The staff at breakfast were excellent and made us feel very very welcome, they also seemed to enjoy there work.
The staff on reception were very helpful they phoned taxis for us, looked after our luggage all day and gave us a voucher towards our parking.

All in all we had a great stay and would not hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Breakfast is a must.

“location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Had room 177 on 1st floor which was huge and had an old iron press for a feature hanging from the ceiling.View over Albert Dock from window, also comfy bed and really clean bathroom. Would definately stay here again as just a very short walk to Liverpool 1 and loads of bars and restaurants.

“Brilliant budget hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

Just back from a 2 night stay in this hotel. We booked way ahead and only paid £29 per night for a double room which was spotless, modern and comfortable. Probably the best hotel shower we've experienced.

If I had to grumble about anything it would be that they're a bit stingy with tea & coffee sachets in the room, but I find that in all budget hotels these days.

First time in Liverpool and everyone told us how friendly the locals were but this really wasn't the case in local pubs where we were served by sullen or monosyllabic staff in every one we went in. However, the hotel staff (and I have to say every shop assistant and countless other folk we met randomly in car parks, tourist attractions etc), were lovely. Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful all the time. Breakfast was good quality for a hotel buffet and really good value for money. Brilliant location for all the attractions and city centre. Our room looked out on the big wheel which looked lovely at night lit up in blue.

No parking at the hotel but the arena car park is secure 24hr parking 5mins walk away and cost us only £17.25 from Sun afternoon to Tue evening with the hotel
discount. Even with petrol it made it much cheaper for us than going on the train from York. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
