I stay at Premier Inn's a lot and they tend to be my first choice when I travel for work. This one is OK, but falls below the standard I've come to expect from PIs. It is a bit tired - there's a new one being built around the corner, so hopefully there's a refurb planned for this one after that's opened.
What I liked:
* Central location - 2 mins from Moorfields station, 5 mins from the Cavern, 10 mins from Lime Street, Liverpool 1 and the Liver Building, about 15 minutes from the Albert Dock
* Good value for money
* The road is a bit noisy in the day, but is quiet at night as it is on a side road
What I didn't like:
* Tired, with things in the room and public areas needing fixing (one of the lifts was out of order throughout my stay)
* Breakfast was a bit so-so. Lots of things had run out and had to keep asking for things to be brought - there was only one person working outfront and the poor guy was overstretched.
* The staff weren't as friendly or helpful as they normally are in PIs (which admitedly is normally a *very* high standard and something I generally *love* about the chain). Thought this was a bit odd in Liverpool, as it seems such a friendly city - so maybe they were all a bit overstretched?
I may stay here again, but I think I will probably try somewhere else next time I'm in Liverpool,,, probably the new Premier Inn I saw being built around the corner.
