“Travelodge Central Liverpool - Functional!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I stayed at the Central Liverpool Travelodge for one night, and was allocated a room on the 5th floor. Everything about this place says "adequate but no effort expended". Decor is tired, mattress is worn, pillows are few in number and thin, carpet is worn, shower has mould in the grouting.
It was clean though, and represented good value for money at the price I paid.
The location is very convenient.
I got a good meal (and free Wi-Fi!) at the Excelsior pub just across the road.
Fine for one night; not sure I would be thrilled to stay for longer.

Room Tip: Try not to get a rom opposite the lift lobby on any floor; they are very noisy!

my daughter and i went to liverpool for one noght for a friends birthday and i booked this travel lodge as it was next to lime street station we were early for check in so we had to pay an extra £10 we went up to our room and when i walked in i could have cried this was the first time i had ever taken my daughter to a hotel and i was so disappointed the shower was filthy there was a heater on the wall that was filthy the mattress was lumpy and the room was very depressing i had paid £122 for one night and no breakfast included it was appalling, i took my daughter round to the marriot hotel and managed to get a room there for us,,, so we went back to the travel lodge to check out the staff were lovely and very helpful but unfortunately the rooms let the place down i wouldnt book into a travel lodge again because of this bad experience.

“Better than expected for £15”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit apprehensive of staying at the Travelodge but our stay was better than expected (for the price).

The best thing about the hotel is easily the location, it was our first time visiting Liverpool and the hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from the centres restaurants/bars/shops and about 15 minutes from the docks. I agree the hotel does need renovation and was a looking worn but the bedroom and bathroom we stayed in was very clean (no mould or musty smell) and for £15 we weren’t expecting luxury. We used the electronic check-in and didn’t see any staff during our stay; this didn’t bother us as we didn’t have any problems. The only downside was the bed definitely needed a new mattress and the parking is a bit of a pain if you want to avoid paying a lot of money - you can park outside the hotel for free between 8pm-8.00am but then need to move the car into the car park opposite (cost about £8 for the day).

Overall, I’d definitely stay here again if visiting Liverpool due to great location as long as the price was right! it’s just like a lot of other Travelodge’s so if you go knowing what to expect you won’t be disappointed.

“A bit run down but convenient”

Have stayed here a few times before. It's convenient and they now seem to have extra staff on who are all friendly and helpful - the rooms are a bit musty and yes there's mould in the bathrooms but for a cheap overnight stay it's fine.

“Good location for an early flight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

As we had an early flight home, we were unable to stay in Chester and so decided to stay in this Liverpool Travelodge hotel instead. The location is perfect for the city centre shops and pubs, and is also near all the major bus and railway routes.
The check in was efficient, I also appreciated that we were allowed to check in at 14.40, some branches make you wait in reception until 15.00 as stated on the booking, well done for common sense. The room was a little smaller than the standard Travelodge layout, but we only put our bags into the room then went out for the afternoon and evening. Although the room was clean, there have clearly been some parties in it as there are chunks missing out of the walls and stains over the paint, thankfully it was just an overnight stop for an early flight as I wouldn't have found it comfortable for any longer.
