“Nice Gateway to the 'pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2011

Loved it's location. Staff very friendly. Hostel itself Very much lacked atmosphere. Self catering kitchen ill equipped. Overall because of it's location well worth a visit. Easy access to city centre, close to main bus station, close to ferry across the Mersey which is included the city 1 day travel ticket. Close to the main shopping centres and cinemas. A express bus to John Lennon can be caught from very close to entrance to hostel. Be prepared for large student groups which can populate the dining room doing lectures throughout the day so you could feel like an interloper. As access to Self Catering is through dining room so silence seems paramount non students are restricted unnecessarily.

“Good value, close to Albert Dock, reccommend yes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

I stayed overnight just before Halloween, the place was decked out in cobwebs.. There is a Beatles theme in the hostel,I stayed in "Penny Lane". The staff was helpful and offered a map of the city. There are computers and you can buy internet access, plus a lounge with couches and books. No curfew, ove 35 ok, and there was more of a hotel feel. I stayed in a 6 bed room and tthere were 3 others, had no problems. They don't provide bathroom amenities other than TP so bring your own. Didn't have the breakfastbut it smelled really good. There are vending machines. YHA is very convenient to Albert Dock.

“Wonderfully friendly staff, convenient location, strongly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2010

The staff here are very friendly, which can really make the difference when you stay somewhere. It's conveniently located, just a short stroll into the city centre. The airport express bus actually stops across the road from the hostel, which is very handy! The hostel is a lot bigger than I was expecting but the whole place seemed clean and well kept, our room was certainly fine. Absolutely no complaints about the YHA, apart from the water pressure in the shower being a bit rubbish but you can't have everything! I'll certainly consider staying here next time I'm in Liverpool/

“A really carefree stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2010

From the rooms (each in excellent condition and equipped with its own bathroom!) and floors named after Beatles songs to the cozy lobby and outdoor area, I have no complaints about this place - even its location right next to the Liverpool docks (Tate Museum, Beatles Museum and many others + several other cultural and entertainment attractions) makes it really the best choice if you're looking for sight-seeing, shopping, dining etc. It is also within an easy walking distance from the Liverpool Cathedral and the downtown area, with many landmarks and sites on the way.

And thank you to all the staff for their friendship (even better than friendliness) and their helpfulness.

“Amazing hostel and amazing staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

The staff at liverpool yha are the most amazing people you could ever meet. when i fell ill during my travels they went above and beyond to make sure i could to the services i needed.

in addition; the facilities at the hostel are amazing, quality rooms, great dining area, very well equipped self catering kitchen and comfortable lounge.
the location of the hostel is fantastic, with in walking distance to almost anything you could possibly need, extremely close to tourist attractions and easily accessible via public transit from the airport.

I can't say enough good things about this place, I will definitely be back!
