Stayed here this weekend. We often stay here and the hotel was up to the usual really good standard (great rooms, really helpful staff). Somebody was smoking in their room (we could smell it when we got in on the Friday night) and the hotel pushed letters under all the doors to explain that this was not permitted – I thought it was good they were attempting to do something about it.
We ate in the restaurant, on the meal deal, on the Friday night and the food was really good. We also had breakfast on the Saturday but the place was packed and they really did not have enough staff on to cover the workload. Everything kept running out and the poor girl who seemed to be in charge (there was just her and one young lad) was run ragged. I gave up waiting for hot water for a cup of tea, and we had one back in the room.
