i checked in to the liner around four and the room was like ice as the windows had been left open and it was the middle of winter when i called over how you turn the heating on i was told it wont come on till six. the radiator was coverd so even at six the room was frezzing cold!! if you decide to pop out you are given icy stares by the staff for them having to see you walk past, they are unable to understand the simplist request as their english is so poor. overpriced for an igloo!!

“Two night stay”

Just back from a 2 night stay at The Liner with my wife and our niece and nephew and i must say i was impressed. Both my wife and i, to be honest very fussy, from the food to how clean a place is. On both these issues we had none, the hotel is spotless, breakfast was excellent, hot and tasty with plenty to eat and refreshed every few moments. The staff are very friendly from the excellent cleaner through to the bar staff, the chief, who was very jokey, and last but not least the girls at reception. All in all a good trip and will defeniately be staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a front facing room onto Lord Nelson Street.

We found the hotel's central location ideal, the staff were attentive, helpful and polite.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable, The breakfast menu and quality was good.
The price we paid for 1 night B&B for two people repesented fantastic value for money.
The free cark park adjacent to the hotel is a big bonus .

“For goodness sake stay away in summer!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I've stayed at this hotel with my husband and baby twice, once in winter and once in summer. On both occasions I've found it clean convenient and for the most part with excellant customer service. The main problem is when the hotel was refurbished (and to a high standard) noone thought to put in air conditioning. As a result the hotel gets hotter and hotter the higher up you go. I had the misfortun to be staying for 4 nights during the summer for a midweek visit with friends and we all had the same problem - the heat. This wasn't helped by the fact the windows only open a crack for safety and the all the fans at reception were out on loan, and we couldn't move rooms as the hotel was full. Cue the worst night sleep of my baby's life and a trip to buy my own fan the next day.

On the positive side the parking is free (althouh bays are small so it's a little tricky for those with family cars) the service is first rate and you can get some great deals last minute. The food is fantastic and I loved the open kitchen, and the childrens menu was much better than most hotels. The location can't get much better as it's next to lime street station for communters and seconds away from the city centre for shoppers. I would stay there again, just not in summer!
