This was a Birthday present for my 8 year old son to take him to watch a Liverpool football home game. When we arrived in the afternoon other guests checking in were complaining their room had not even been cleaned yet. We got in our 'family room' which stank of smoke and the bathroom was disgusting with a broken tap and mouldy shower. As a solution we were only offered air freshner! We were woken by loud music, screaming and banging doors from the floor above which was still going on at 3am. We decided to leave in the middle of the night and drive home. I wrote to complain when we returned as recommended by the night receptionist. They eventually replied after me having to ring and chase a response. The reply was rude and badly written with no offer of a refund and insinuated we were lying. Should never be advertised as anywhere you should be allowed to take children and we would say would only suit large single sex parties on possibly stag or hen parties.

Its the worse hotel iv ever stayed in, its got the worse smell you could ever smell that doesnt go away, its not safe to go out for a walk at night, the staff was not friendly and i wouldnt advise anyone to stay at this hotel. an as for the breakfast well that was another matter we got down to breakfast at 9.05 an there was nothing to have for breakfast only a slice of toast an we had to ask for the bread that was hand to us without a plate then when i put it the toaster i couldnt get it out again and it ended up like a slice of cardboard . was a nightmare from hell an would never use it again,or advise anyone else to use it and if you do then good luck an stay safe

Myself and my partner were staying in Liverpool for the weekend and were looking for a cheap hotel,the Regent Maritime Hotel was the cheapest we could find!at such a small price my expectations were low..however I was proven wrong!when we arrived I was greeted by a helpful and friendly member of staff(as were all the staff, who could not do enough for us!). We were shown to our room which was spotlessly clean and well decorated,which also had great facilities.We made the short trip from the hotel to Liverpool City Centre and then later came back to a 24hr bar! In the morning we had a lovely full english breakfast and relaxed in the lounge before leaving.We would definately stay there again and would recommend!

This hotel is 2 star and we did not find some of the problems of dirt etc mentioned in the other reviews. However, the area is a desolate heavy industrial area. There are wide deserted streets, piles of scrap metal and a stench of chemicals. It is not a safe area to walk around. Maybe this place is suitable for groups of lads who are planning on coming back late very drunk not to notice the smell or be too worried about their safety. At the time of booking breakfast was included, but they denied it at the hotel. They wanted to charge £5 for full english, although I wouldn't have wanted to eat there. Also the shuttle bus does not seem to be available any more.
