We stayed for one night whilst going to a football match then meeting friends so were just looking for somewhere to lay our heads for the night. The Hotel is in a very run down part of Liverpool - actually Bootle - but had it's own car park which was a bonus. The rooms were tired looking but were clean and comfortable. The reception area was dingey and uninviting. However, it was the attitude of the staff that amazed us. They were all scruffily dressed. We asked for more soap as we had one tiny already used bar in our room upon arrival - that didn't arrive so when we asked again we were told that they would "have to open up another room" to get it us (which we insisted they did). When we checked in the woman on reception couldn't see the computer due to having forgotten her glasses so didn't know if we'd paid or not and when I paid the bill, they were unable to give me a receipt due to the printer being broken so hand wrote me one in red pen! Everything was too much trouble. However breakfast was good and the hotel was half the price of those in the City Centre and was a five minute taxi journey away from the centre so well placed.
