We stayed here on a Friday night before an early Liverpool match. We had a great room on the 6th floor overlooking the docks and the little sofa area in the rooms was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable also and staff were friendly. I see some people have said its a bit away from the nightlife, but I think that depends what you're into. There was a great little historic bar right beside it and the docks are five minutes away, so we were happy enough.
I would agree though with the comments about the sliding doors in the bathroom. They don't give much privacy.
The strangest aspect was the breakfast however. It comes inclusive in I think all packages and is a bit of an ordeal. It's not so much the quality, which was average, but more the fact that they struggled to accommodate everyone (we could only find stools in the reception/bar area, edged on to someone else's table). It really was a free for all and the buffet area was a mess with kids, pushy parents, hungover lads on stag parties etc barging around making for a not very enjoyable experience. It was more like a youth hostel than a hotel. This wasn't helped by the fact that it ended at 10am, which probably led to a rush of people from 9.30onwards and I can't see why they just don't extend to midday. Overall, for room quality and views, it was great, but they'd need to sort out the breakfast situation before I'd stay again.
