We had an early morning flight so took advantage of the Hilton's park and fly package, leaving our car in their secure car park right outside the hotel. I think we paid around £85 for the nights stay, breakfast and parking for 4 days - which is excellent when you think of just the parking cost alone. You enter the hotel via the short stay car park at Liverpool airport - you take a ticket at the barrier just the same as if you were parking your car up, then when you return and are ready to leave, the hotel validate your ticket, if you have included parking in your stay.
The room was superb - newly built and designed with everything just where you need it. Clean modern bathroom. Comfy beds with proper duvets and pillows. Big TV with inbuilt hotel system where you can book your own wake up call. The only minor downside with the room is that the air con is a bit noisy - but you can easily turn it off, which we did. I have to say I was very impressed that you couldn't hear a thing from outside - bearing in mind the hotel is actually on the airport complex - no noise from the planes at all. You couldn't hear anything internally either - no noise from adjoining rooms or corridor.
There's a nice lounge area with several TV's and screens showing flight arrivals and departures. Don't bother with the food - eat before you arrive as the menu is very limited and there's nowhere else around to eat. The bar isn't cheap either - but it's a hotel bar with a captive market so there's nothing unusual in their prices being a little steep.
Breakfast was good quality with a selection of cereals, muffins, toast (brown and white) and a nice selection of jams, spreads etc. The coffee was excellent with two nicely explained blends - one stronger for those who needed a big wake-up before an early fight! We were disappointed that there was no hot food at the time we ate though. We paid for breakfast in our stay just like everyone else, so I feel that everything should be available throughout the breakfast service, not limited to those who are dining later. Had this been provided I would have rated this hotel as 5/5.
After checking out it takes less than 2 minutes to get to the airport check in desks, via the lifts which are right next to the hotel entrance. Equally it's great to know you don't have far to go when you land back at Liverpool! On our return the staff were extremely helpful with validating our parking ticket and helping with our enquiries on the Hilton honours scheme. Make sure you sign up before your stay in order to get the points from your stay at this and any other Hilton hotel. A big thank you to Carly on reception who was very helpful with our enquiries and in helping us with a lost purse issue (which was thankfully only temporary!)
We'll definitely be staying again next time we have an early morning flight from Liverpool airport and we'd recommend that you do too!
