“Good central location with nice modern touches”

We booked an executive room for one night over the weekend.

Facilities in room were very good (loved the nespresso machine) but the carpet was heavily stained which wasn't great as a first impression but didnt hinder our stay. We were annoyed with housekeeping for not checking that our tissue,sanitary and toliet rolls were empty or running low so it took two calls to reception to get some loo roll but these are small quibbles.

Breakfast was excellent and was very good quality with superb choice. It might seem expensive at £14 but you get quailty produce which in my view is worth paying extra for.

I would definitely stay here again.

“a night in the city”

2nd stay here. Fab base as central for everything. Rooms have everything you could need. Pool and gym are great. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast brilliant, whether u want cooked, continental or cerial, there is something for evereyone! Staff are great too, very proffessional but also friendly.

Room Tip: If u feel the cold get them to preheat your room, as the thermostat is set to medium on arrival.

“Not as good as I expected”

I was expecting great things from this hotel, having stayed with Novotel before and been really impressed. However, I was quite disappointed in the reality. Great points are the location, the breakfast and the staff. However, my friend and I had to move rooms on the first night due to the walk in shower leaking, plug sockets not working and the fact that the tap in the bathroom came off in my hand! Many of my group complained of the bathrooms being smelly, one pair even went to Tesco for an air freshener! In general my feeling was that the rooms had been finished quickly and on the cheap which is a great pity as this could be a fabulous hotel. Also the room staff did not replenish the tea/coffee etc overnight so I had to make a 3am trip to reception for supplies! Could not fault the staff in their responses to our complaints, but not what you would expect from a fairly new hotel purporting to be 4****

Room Tip: If you want a twin, go for one of the doubles with a sofa bed, the twin beds are TINY!

Stayed here again for four nights in January. Could not fault anything the manager Maurice Able should take some of the credit because the staff know how to look after you. Everybody was so helpful and very informative. The room was clean and spacious, the buffet breakfast provided everything you needed, definatly 4 star

“Very modern but very hot rooms”

We stayed here as a treat check in was quick and easy very friendly staff.

Went out for the night and returned to quite a hot room and as you can only open windows so far this was a slight pain! Due to this i collapsed and was taken to hospital at 4am. Staff were great and issued a full refund as a good will. One particular member made sure i sat down and had plenty of water and was the one to give the refund! Very good staff!!

If you have problems with heat make sure u ask for fans!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and I am sorry to hear that the room was too hot and you were taken ill. We were not aware that you went to hospital and I am very sorry to hear this and I hope you do feel better. Please rest assured that we look at our heating in the rooms daily to control it, it is all centralized and kept at 21 degrees normally but that was obviously not the case in your room and I do apologize for the inconvenience.
