“Pleasantly surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2012

A very nice hotel - albeit underground! The furnishings and fittings were of high quality, as was the bathroom. It is a very convenient walk to the city centre. Because of this, I think quite a few hen and stag parties stay here so it might be noisy at times, but that's not the fault of the hotel.

There was a mysterious blue light by the door to the room - this is rather bright and may keep some people awake. Otherwise, well worth a go if you're looking for budget accommodation in Liverpool :)

“Central place but.......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2012

Just stayed here and here are my thoughts..
Brill place for shops plus bars ect
rooms are very small with no windows.
The rooms were clean but they dont clean them every day if you stay more than one day!
Can be noisy and hot and the blue light that is in the room could keep you awake.
The staff are brill and location but would never stay again because of the rooms only.
If you just going for a stag do this maybe the place for you.

“APPALLING!! TERRIBLE!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2012

DONT stay here and if you have to avoid ROOM 230 at all costs!!

The room is in the basement (along with most of the rooms)...the ceiling in the
room is very low and the ceiling and walls are very very thin....above room 230 is the
women's toilets in the pub above the hostel/hotel and until the early hours of the morning
you can hear women walking very clearly and loudly overhead, using the toilets, using the hand dryer's etc etc....

We did not sleep a wink and so we asked to move rooms and, unluckily, the only room available was a single bed which my partner and I squeezed into and had a terrible night sleep.
Were the staff helpful? Hmm, I'll leave that for you to decide if you go against our advice!

Room Tip: AVOID ROOM 230.....there are no windows so don't expect a good view in any room

Stayed here for 2 nights on 30th March and cant fault a thing. the rooms are small but comfotable and perfect for a short stay. Hotel staff are lovely and its a great location. We were there as a hen party and has booked 5 double rooms. All were nice and no complaints whatsoever. would highly recommend!!

“pleasently suprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2012

Me and my partner stayed at the cocoon international inn hotel in March 2012. I was abit apprehensive about staying there after reading other people's reviews on this website, however when we arrived we were greeted by a very chatty n pleasent man on reception, always a good start when the receptionist is friendly, after checking inn and getting our keycard we made are way down to our room. The rooms are very basic n quite small but for a weekend away and at a reasonable price what do you really care when you are only sleeping in the room. The "smell" that a lot of people seem to talk about was not around the weekend we went, I can't help but think that some people on this website like to complain about the tiniest of things. As there is a hostel above the hotel we were aware that there may be some noise, but all 3 nights we stayed we both slept like babies, yes there was the odd bang or shout but your staying in a city, in a hotel that is also a hostel what do you really expect!!! all in all a really great stay in this hotel, would defintly recommend to people as it is so central to everything you need.
