I chose to stay in the Jurys Inn, as I had a good experience in another one in Newcastle, and I thought it was a safe bet.
I was staying on a business trip for one night, so my needs were not that great, but barely any of them were met!
On arrival, I could not find the car park! So i asked at reception, and I was told it was "at the back of the hotel." So i got back into my car, and drove round the back, and found it was a multi story car park, used by the entire complex that the hotel is situated on, and it was a 10 minute walk from my car to the hotel front door, and when your carrying a suitcase, a laptop and a Suit, this distance is conciderable, especially when you have to carry them all down the stairs of a Multi Story Car Park.
I arrived at reception, to check in after my hike from the car, and was told breckfast wasnt included with my stay - which i wasnt too fussed about. However, when i was told it would cost me £9.50 for breckfast, i commented that this was very overpriced for your standard fry up buffet. The lady who checked me in on reception was very abrupt with me, all i was told about my room was "it's on the 6th floor" there was no "your room is number 612" not even a "have a nice stay"
I managed to find my room by looking at the slip the lady had given to me, and when i got in there, all credit, the view from my window was stunning, accross the docs. I went down to dinner, and the restaurant menu was the least exciting iv seen in a while, so i went accross to the local pizza shop and took it back up to my room. I attempted to log on to the hotel wi-fi, and was met with a screen inforiming me that to use the internet at the hotel, it would cost me £10! TEN POUNDS to use the wi-fi?! So i went without, and spent the night watching the TV.
The following day i woke up and went into the bathroom for a shower, which was stone cold, i couldnt even get it to go luke warm. So again, i went without. I went down to check out, and was told that the car park was £7.50! Again, another hidder added cost, which i had no choice but to pay.
All in all - an unplesent stay - best thing about it was the view.
