I've just returned from an enjoyable overnight stay with my sister and four friends in the Jazz and Singapore themed apartments at Posh Pads as part of my 40th birthday celebrations. Following extensive research, my booking was made a few months previously, however, after reading some recent reviews I wondered whether I'd made the right choice and I'm delighted to say I did. From arrival through to checkout, our entire stay couldn't be faulted. Contrary to some other reviewers' experiences, we found the reception staff (like everyone we encountered in Liverpool) very friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. The apartments themselves certainly had the wow factor (much to mine and my guest's delight). The apartments and communal areas were very clean, comfortable and perfectly located for shopping (Liverpool One shopping centre is literally on the doorstep), eating out and sightseeing and were within 10 minutes walk of Lime Streeet Station. Yes, there was some noise from the street during the night but nothing more than I've experienced when stopping elsewhere and although there may have been the odd scuff on a couple of walls and furnishings, I wouldn't describe the decor as tired, unlike other 4/5* establishments I've stayed in across the UK and around the globe. All in all a delightful stay and a fabulous 40th birthday experience.

When we arrived to check in it was about 4pm and the reception was over crowded with at least 6 guests all trying to check in, the recption staff didnt handle it very well as we were told to move to one side while they were sorting a complaining customer or to come back in 20 minutes, then people who had already checked in were back at reception saying other people were in their room. Not a great first impression. We finally managed to check in at around 4.30pm and there was no aplogy for the wait and not very friendly staff. When we got to the room i can only describe it as basic, i.e no tv in the bedroom, no docking stations no en suite in master room.The bathroomwas a disaster the plug wouldnt work and when you turned the tap on it just sprayed water every where-i gave up on the idea. The living room/kitchen was nice to look at although 1/4 of the lights did not work so there was no point in the fancy switches. The worst part was the bedroom as the big bed was infact just 2 beds pushed together which was very annyoing as you just fall in the middle. For the amount of money they charge you wouold expect better quality and certainly better service from the staff. Bottom line i feel we was ripped off and i would rather have stayed in a travel lodge because they dont pretend to be something they arent!

I stayed in this apartments last Nov. It was a great experience, as I stayed in the Liverpool team apartment, which was a wonderful experience. Moreover, the flat was great and the two bedrooms was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen has all the essential equipments. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that I didn't like is the smell of the reception, as its very close to the restaurant.

Four of us stayed in a "penthouse apartment" for one night but the experience was disapppointing. The "bed" for the fourth person was only big enough for a child, but much worse was the smell coming from the ensuite bathroom in the main bedroom. The smell was unmistakably that of raw sewage. On check-in all the windows in the main bedroom (but not other parts of the apartment) were open which would suggest Posh Pads were aware of the problem. We complained upon check-out but the manager has not contacted me at all. For the kind of money that Posh Pads ask for, I would advise (even without the sewage issue) to stay in one of the many nice hotels nearby.
