“First Class B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at Ryelands House for 4 nights whilst taking a short break in the area and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
We stayed in the twin room with ensuite and it has great views over the garden, pond and fields. Caroline, the owner is an excellent hostess, who provided a tea tray every day complete with cake , biscuits and fresh milk. The room is large with two easy chairs in which to relax and read or watch TV, and is beautiful, bright and clean with an ensuite that has a bath with a shower over and fresh towels daily if necessary.
An excellent breakfast, with all that you could want, is taken in the bright and airy breakfast room downstairs that also has a settee and armchairs that can be used for relaxing in during the evening, and I suspect the day if you asked.
Although we didn't meet Mike, Caroline's husband, as it was harvest time and he was busy on the farm, we did meet their two delightful dogs Wilfred and Pickles ( someone must be a fan of 1940s and 50s radio presenters !!).

All in all this is with doubt first class B&B accommodation and we will definately return when we are next staying in the area.

“Wonderful location, accommodation & hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2010

We've stayed at Ryelands twice now and hope to visit again. Our first visit was for one night in October 2008 while attending a family wedding. The second was a longer stay in April 2009 for a family funeral. Caroline and Mike were wonderful hosts and made us feel so comfortable. They were also very kind and helpful during what was obviously a difficult time for us - they went far above and beyond what might be expected in such a situation, and for that I will always be very grateful.

The house is quite new and very spacious. The guest room we were in both times was large with lovely views of fields and a pond. In April the daffodil fields were in full bloom and the views were just spectacular. I spent lots of time walking through the fields and nearby woods, a beautiful and quiet setting.

The room was very comfortable, with a lovely large bathroom with underfloor heating and a power shower with lots of hot water. Breakfasts were wonderful. Lots of cereals, toast and cooked to order fresh eggs from the farm. A delight.

Just a short walk down the road into Potterhanworth is a wonderful pub with amazing food. It's also just a short drive into Lincoln for shopping and tourist attractions. An ideal way to experience the Licolnshire countryside.

“Tranquility, luxury and close to Lincoln”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2008

My wife and I really enjoyed our recent stay at Ryelands; Caroline and Mike made us feel very welcome. Our room was large, modern and had a really comfortable bed. It is so quiet on their CLEAN farm that a peaceful nights sleep is guaranteed ; the en suite shower was powerful with consistently hot water and my wife loved the underfloor heating. Needless to say there was ample tea and coffee with fresh milk in the bedroom. Caroline provided us with healthy breakfasts with freshly prepared ingredients as well as a traditional cooked to order English breakfast presented in a light and spacious room overlooking their lake with resident swans. Of course I must mention their dogs Pickle and Wilf who were more than willing to be stroked but would be kept away if you weren't keen on dogs. RYELAND HOUSE is off a quiet no through road leading out of the village and then set back down it's long drive with sheep grazing as you approach, nice walks immediately off the farm and yet within 15 minutes of Lincoln with local trains and buses nearby should you not want to drive. Lastly the village boasts a super gastro pub where booking is essential; we had a lovely stay so thoroughly recommended.

“What a wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2008

What a wonderful location for a B&B. Situated just outside the village of Potterhanworth, this is an ideal location to see the sights of Lincoln. The room was very spacious and well appointed. The host was friendly and knowledgable about the local tourist attractions. The view was magnificent and we really enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife while eating breakfast. Definitely somewhere we would stay again when in England!

“Home from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2007

My wife and I stopped at Ryelands House for two nights in May 2007 whilst house hunting in the area. The house is situated in the small village of Potterhanworth which is only 7 miles from Lincoln Cathedral. The large house is modern and stands in the lovely countryside. We immediately felt at home as we were greeted by the two resident dogs Wilf and Pickles. The owner Caroline Norcross welcomed us and showed us to our lovely room. There was tea, coffee making facilities as well as a flask of cold fresh milk and a jug of water. In the biscuit barrel there were chocolate biscuits. The room itself was very large and contained a king sized bed with two arm chairs, a small table and a television. There is more than ample storage space for clothes as there is a range of fitted wardrobes with wooden hangers. The bathroom is large with a tub and overhead power shower. Breakfast is freshly cooked and delicious. Whilst this is happening there is fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereals and fruit juices to enjoy. When the cooked breakfast is served it is accompanied by freshly cooked hot toast. Both Caroline and her husband Mike are very friendly hosts and gave us plenty of advice about the area. The cost of £25 each is obviously far cheaper than any hotel and by far better value. We intend to stay again later in June as we have found a home from home.

I fully recommend this Bed and Breakfast as it is great value with luxury accommodation and great hosts.
