My wife and I stopped at Ryelands House for two nights in May 2007 whilst house hunting in the area. The house is situated in the small village of Potterhanworth which is only 7 miles from Lincoln Cathedral. The large house is modern and stands in the lovely countryside. We immediately felt at home as we were greeted by the two resident dogs Wilf and Pickles. The owner Caroline Norcross welcomed us and showed us to our lovely room. There was tea, coffee making facilities as well as a flask of cold fresh milk and a jug of water. In the biscuit barrel there were chocolate biscuits. The room itself was very large and contained a king sized bed with two arm chairs, a small table and a television. There is more than ample storage space for clothes as there is a range of fitted wardrobes with wooden hangers. The bathroom is large with a tub and overhead power shower. Breakfast is freshly cooked and delicious. Whilst this is happening there is fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereals and fruit juices to enjoy. When the cooked breakfast is served it is accompanied by freshly cooked hot toast. Both Caroline and her husband Mike are very friendly hosts and gave us plenty of advice about the area. The cost of £25 each is obviously far cheaper than any hotel and by far better value. We intend to stay again later in June as we have found a home from home.
I fully recommend this Bed and Breakfast as it is great value with luxury accommodation and great hosts.
