Caroline Norcross incredibly welcoming and fitted us in at the last minute. Very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and she very kindly booked a table for dinner for us at the local pub. Extremely good value. We plan to return.
I stayed here last week for 2 nights, I was on my own as I was in the area with work. Caroline made me feel very welcome and even made a cooked breakfast at 06:15am both mornings, the room was fantastic, spacious very clean, tidy and the welcome tray had a nice touch of either chocolate biscuit or slice of cake. The power shower was lovely, after standing around at work all day, it was nice to have a shower and relax. The views out of the room were very picturesque and the area was quiet just the way I am used to. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.
My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at Ryelands House for 4 nights whilst taking a short break in the area and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
We stayed in the twin room with ensuite and it has great views over the garden, pond and fields. Caroline, the owner is an excellent hostess, who provided a tea tray every day complete with cake , biscuits and fresh milk. The room is large with two easy chairs in which to relax and read or watch TV, and is beautiful, bright and clean with an ensuite that has a bath with a shower over and fresh towels daily if necessary.
An excellent breakfast, with all that you could want, is taken in the bright and airy breakfast room downstairs that also has a settee and armchairs that can be used for relaxing in during the evening, and I suspect the day if you asked.
Although we didn't meet Mike, Caroline's husband, as it was harvest time and he was busy on the farm, we did meet their two delightful dogs Wilfred and Pickles ( someone must be a fan of 1940s and 50s radio presenters !!).
All in all this is with doubt first class B&B accommodation and we will definately return when we are next staying in the area.
We've stayed at Ryelands twice now and hope to visit again. Our first visit was for one night in October 2008 while attending a family wedding. The second was a longer stay in April 2009 for a family funeral. Caroline and Mike were wonderful hosts and made us feel so comfortable. They were also very kind and helpful during what was obviously a difficult time for us - they went far above and beyond what might be expected in such a situation, and for that I will always be very grateful.
The house is quite new and very spacious. The guest room we were in both times was large with lovely views of fields and a pond. In April the daffodil fields were in full bloom and the views were just spectacular. I spent lots of time walking through the fields and nearby woods, a beautiful and quiet setting.
The room was very comfortable, with a lovely large bathroom with underfloor heating and a power shower with lots of hot water. Breakfasts were wonderful. Lots of cereals, toast and cooked to order fresh eggs from the farm. A delight.
Just a short walk down the road into Potterhanworth is a wonderful pub with amazing food. It's also just a short drive into Lincoln for shopping and tourist attractions. An ideal way to experience the Licolnshire countryside.
