This place seems to be run by people who simply can't be bothered.
When I first booked, the confirmed rate was £12 higher than advertised.
When I arrived, I was presented with a bill (for up front payment) which was another £10 higher than the rate agreed at the time of booking. One price hike isn't good, but two is just rude. However I complained and they backed down on the second hike.
I had a meal in the bar, which was OK for pub grub if small portions and overpriced. The beer however (Tiger, one of my favourites) was poorly kept and reminded me of lager.
When I got to my room I found that it was cold and noisy (I could hear someone snoring next door and it was loud) so I guess they skimped on the insulation?
So after an uncomfortable night's sleep I used the shower next morning to find it only worked at one temperature - tepid. Plus the bathroom door was very difficult to move. Considering this was the disabled room (I'm not disabled, don't know why I got that room) surely the door should be EASY to use?
And then to breakfast. I would say they supplied the bare minimum. There was no cereal on offer, just some cooked options. I went for the standard English Breakfast, which was very meagre. They forgot the sausage completely and the solitary egg was rubbery. To add insult to injury, I found that the tea cup on the table was filthy. While I was having my breakfast, the landlady's kids were getting ready for school in the dining area.
While the staff were polite enough and attempted to make good the problems, the impression was of a total lack of interest.
Well if they can't be bothered to do a good job, I can't be bothered to return. Avoid.
