We have just returned from The Castle and cannot fault it. We had originally booked for two nights but enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by another night. We had a Traditional room which was comfortable and modern with a glorious view of the Cathedral. Breakfast was very good with some less common choices at no extra charge - obviously cooked to order and not kept warm on a hotplate. The evening meal was excellent with an imaginative menu and a pleasant ambience. The staff were friendly and genuinely cared about the Hotel and our enjoyment of it. Free car parking right outside the door was a welcome plus. The location couldn't have been better. The Castle is right opposite and worth a visit - a guided tour is a must. The Cathedral - about 5 mins walk - is stunningly beautiful. The immediate area is very historic with quaint cobbled streets, interesting architecture and unusual little shops.Plenty to explore in the day and a perfect hotel to return to. We have already recommended it to friends and will return one day.

My fiance and I stayed here for a night after a friend's wedding, having found it through TripAdvisor. It met all our expectations - all the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel and room decor was very modern and sophisticated, and the breakfast in the morning was made-to-order and high quality. Only slight downside was the small room size, but to be honest for the price it was still great value. Great location for exploring Lincoln too. Would happily stay there again, and recommend to others.

The accommodation offered here is first class. Excellent fittings, comfortable beds, couldn't fault it. Totally clean. Good bathroom and shower.

We had a magical time wandering around the quaint Dickensian type streets in the old quarter of Lincoln. The Castle Hotel is perfectly situated to facilitate this. The cathedral at night is floodlit and, given the time of year, Christmas trees, festive lights and decorations all added to the atmosphere of this lovely city. Returning to the warmth and comfort of the hotel was great!

The Castle Hotel is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is perfect, right next to the Castle, with a view of the Cathedral too, and only a short walk to the main shopping area of Lincoln. The hotel's free car park is also really handy.
We stayed in an Executive Double room for one night, but wish we had been able to stay longer. The whole hotel, from entering the reception area to the room itself, was immaculate. The refurbishment has been completed to a very high standard, with great attention to detail. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and feels really luxurious.
The staff are really welcoming and friendly, but without being invasive. We didn't eat in the hotel's restaurant as we fancied a walk out for dinner, but it seemed fairly busy and the smells coming from it were delicious, which are always good signs! The breakfast was brilliant- fresh produce, cooked well, and a great choice with some dishes that you wouldn't normally get in a run-of-the-mill hotel.
Other reviews have commented on having a poor night's sleep, however this was not an issue for us. Even as a light sleeper, I had a full night's sleep without any disturbance.
Overall, a really fantastic night away in a beautiful city. We will recommend The Castle Hotel to friends and family, and will definitely be back again ourselves! Thank you to the owners and staff for delivering such brilliant service in a truly beautiful hotel.
