It was cheap. I should have guessed why. I've never had a hotel check my credit card on check in to see if I had the funds to pay. That was the warning sign....

The room was basic but a good size. It was a little frayed at the edges. The skirting board sat 2cm above the carpet, which made it look like the the floor was sinking.

The thing that made me check out early was that I could not borrow an ironing board. Seriously. This is supposed to be a hotel. The ones they had were lent out and over a nine our period of asking for one they still could not help.

The staff seem battle hardened, which makes me wonder how many complaints they get.

The Ibis Lincoln is outside a suburb of Lincoln and, while easy to get to, provides a frustrating rush-hour journey to the centre of Lincoln. The room was fine for the money, but no air-conditioning and 29 Celsius temperatures meant that I had to keep the window open all the time, fine except for the very busy A road passing just outside. The food on offer was very poor (the breakfast was a little better than the snack menu) and the two restaurants on the same site were mixed. Frankie and Bennies was okay, but I would advise against visiting the 'Pride of Lincolnshire' - poor service and inedible food. The best thing about the hotel is the price, and for what I paid I was not too disappointed.

We stayed here Oct '07 and loved it.
Staff very friendly and arranged adjoining rooms for us on request by phone.
Didn't eat there but within 50 yards there's a large family pub (The Pride of Lincoln) that does food and there's a Frankie and Bennies next to that.
It's a little out of town but the road that leads to it (A46) has plenty of scope to get all you need to eat and drink.
Hotel, clean and bright, everything works and it's location means that it's very quiet.

Booked via Ibis hotels on line, we were in Lincoln with my parents for the Christmas Markets. Check-in, swift and professional. Rooms clean, if a little too warm. Public areas modern & bright. Buffet Breakfast, all you can ask for, breads, cheese, meat, cereal, fruit, Bagels, just about everything. Lovely coffee machine, doing all ranges of coffee, including Mocha - Delicious.
Pride of Lincoln Pub, 30 second walk, busy, poor service, but decent meals & very handy. Not a good choice of beer, better for wine lovers or Lager drinkers.
Lincoln is a lovely, friendly City & I would certainly stay at the Ibis again, you get everything you need at a good price.
