Having originally been born in Lincoln and know the Bailgate area where the hotel is situated very well, whenever I visit my home county I always stay at D'Isney Place. This is not only because of the fabulous location, in the Bailgate but not amongst the tourists, but also because of the cosy, private, homely and sumptuous feeling you get from walking through the door. I would describe it as a small boutique hotel / B&B with special touches. I have stayed in four different rooms and each one has had its own character, with antique furnishings, large comfy bed and wonderful view of the walled garden. The staff are well educated and very welcoming and the traditional english breakfast reminds me of what my grandmother used to serve up, Lincolnshire sausages, local eggs, hot tea, fruit all on bone china crockery. The fact that this is served in your room along with the daily paper at exactly the time you requested just adds to the charm and hospitality.
